Hollow man? Seriously some of you guys are listing films that are very bad.

Anyhow gattaca is the only one I'm gonna list.

It's a movie that very few know about, ironic considering it's probably one of the best films ever made. Easily the best sci fi.

I think that Alien 3 really does not deserve to be as universally reviled as it currently is. It could have been a much better film, but the ambition it contains far exceeds anything that James Cameron reached for in the film before it. For me, that is the most underrated movie I can think of. Most people hate it, I appreciate it.

I always find Alien 3 underrated, the amount of rejected ideas it has is well documented. The wooden planet idea would of been a lot better. Aliens is the best out of the franchise.

Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright created one of the most overrated films ever {"Shaun of the Dead"} and the one of the most underrated films ever. {"Hot Fuzz"}

Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima

I just watched these two films and I'm surprised that they aren't more well known.

I was watching Homeward Bound The Incredible Journey today. That's a pretty good film and probably very underated. Sure it's strange seeing the animals talking and their mouths not moving but it probably would've been stranger to see their mouths moving. It's a live action talking animal film with dignity I think unlike alot of the stupid talking animal films they make today e.g. Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

You're right, tb86. Homeward Bound and its sequel are old favorites of mine and they are terrific!

What about Marley & Me is that underated? Because if it is it's a pretty enjoyable film and for the love of god it is very sad. I was watching it today on Film 4 and I honestly couldn't stop crying and I'm a 26 year old. I'm not even a dog person.

Many of my favourites have already been mentioned... But here are my top 3 picks:

The Grey - They should have awarded Liam Neeson an Academy Award for this. In my opinion, it is one of the most overlooked performances of *all time*...
Bronson - Tom Hardy is a genius... My guess is that he *will* get an Academy Award one day.
Margin Call - Jeremy Irons delivers a masterpiece of performance... But he already got the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1990...

I remember when I was a kid and I was given the straight-to-VHS Disney film Aladdin and the King of Thieves as a gift. To this day I think about the film frequently since is is far better than most low-budget Disney sequels.

Well it was certainly better than Return of Jafar.
