I agree totally, and the way the books are written, I'm almost certain that "Lemony Snicket" himself is an aspie.

After reading this through and not recognizing most of the names and movies that have been mentioned, I think that Mark from Cheaper by the Dozen movie that came out a couple of years ago might have AS. He is the red-head who all the other kids in his family call "FedEx".

To hadapurpura: I'd never imagine it either. But that fellow does seem to be a little bit strange... :P

I agree, but it's spelled Klaus, like Father Christmas with a K...

Has anyone mentioned Peter Parker from 'Spider-Man'? I am watching it with a friend right now (yes I am on the computer at the same time :P ). Here is an example of an AS conversation:

Peter Parker: Did you know that some spiders can change their appearances to fit in with their environment? It's a defense mechanism.

Harry Osborn: Why do you think I'd want to know that?

Peter Parker: Who wouldn't?

I've seen the Cube as well, for a cheap thriller it wasn't that bad. I seem to remember a brief cameo of autistic kids in the Quitter's Inc. segment of Cat's Eye, which was a Stephen King Movie

*Smack on head* Why, of all things, did that have to slip my mind?

Yes! Every single character(except some of the minor villains and a few characters in the later books) is very aspie!!

Also, Grace Hart in Miss Congeniality and Miss Congeniality 2. It was not very obvious in the first one, but I watched the sequel today and it's very obvious. She is obsessed with a case in each movie, she solves it by noticing details that everyone else misses. She has very little awareness of social skills and grooming unless someone is right there telling her what to do. I identify hugely with her character, especially in the second movie, which focuses on her loneliness and desire for friends. It's a very good representation of the emotional life of an aspie, IMHO.

Oh yeah, and the main character from this italian movie I saw "Il Postino" (The postman). He's obsessed with Beatrice, Then the poet. He has no social skills, no friends, and is very lonely. He has lived in the same town all his life and no one says anything to him voluntarily, at least at first.
