Not gonna lie, the few episodes of Clarence I've watched are pretty good. Kinda reminds me of some of the cartoons I watched when I was little. Too bad it's like, never on because of the network flooding most of the schedule with TTG.

I wish Disney/Nicklodeon/CartoonNetwork could just make a SuperChannel that only features 90s-Early 2000s TV.

That would require major collaboration between Viacom, Disney and whatever company owns Cartoon Network for that to happen. Hell'll freeze over and pigs will sprout wings before then. But most of those cartoons can be found online if you know where to look. Then again, not all those cartoons were as good as some of us remember. :?

Time/Warner owns Cartoon Network and Boomerang. But you're right, Hell will freeze over and pigs will fly before those three behemoths collaborate on anything again. Last thing they collaborated on was Disney's Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Besides, I don't consider any animation after 1965 (which is when Chuck Jones stopped animating Tom and Jerry for MGM) to be worth anything of any kind of artistic value.

I love Clarence.
And AspieAlphys28, now that's what I'm talking about... we need more kids like your cousins to maybe flood CN SAYIN with how much they dislike TTG repeating in insane amounts. I've heard that in some interviews, the Creators of TTG have directly said they make the show as stupid as possible...BECAUSE THEY CAN. They don't care about the viewers. And that's sad.

Those were two great shows. But Adult Swim is just fine. And this thread is about the daytime version of Cartoon Network.

So they make it über stupid just because they can? Yeah, that's not gonna affect the ratings they get beyond the 8-10 yr old boy demographic... Which I honestly think they focus on too much.

On a similar note, has anyone seen any sort of merchandise outside of t-shirts or dvds for any of their shows lately? I don't think I've seen any ads for such since they were still big on Ben 10.

My girlfriend likes TTG & I don't really like it but I don't really hate it either She doesn't watch it much cuz they keep showing the same eps. I don't hate the show but I do wish they'd show it less often & think their ratings would be better if they did.

The problem is that unless some heads roll at Cartoon Network or there's a major shift in the advertising dynamic they'll keep hocking whatever brings in the most advertising dollars. Unfortunately a lot of quality shows only fit a niche audience and so the advertising revenue for those shows is abysmal.

Yes...because they can. And about the merchandise. I saw a bit at Toys R Us over xmas vacation. But even with the ravaged empty shelves...I seriously doubt they had a lot to begin with. I do go out to stores, and have never really seen shirts or any other types of merchandise (school supplies, plushies, toys, etc.) And someone told me once that they focus on shows that are marketable. Well, then why does Pokemon only get one airing a day and look how the merchandise is? I wish there was MORE Pokemon and less TTG

There are some episodes that I like too...so it's ok to keep the show on the schedule. I'm just asking for a bit less. I don't think they've ever dropped below 60 time slots in a week. The highest I've seen was 84 times in one week. And that was what prompted this petition--January 2015, exactly one year ago! Meanwhile, they sometimes go weeks without showing Adventure Time or some of the other more favored toons. The schedule changes CONSTANTLY...but you can ALWAYS bet on TTG being shown 60+ times in a week.

I do miss the golden age of CN, when shows like Courage, EE'n'E and KND were aired. Now it's all strange and nonsensical stuff. I personally can't tell any of the new shows apart, all have a symplistic meme-like look.

maybe the reason why cartoons are like that nowadays is because :

A. Spongebob made the whole "strange and nonsensical stuff" a cliche that cartoon will follow from this point on.

B. Internet memes are popular and they are desperately trying to generate as many memes as possible in hopes of getting free publicity.

I wouldn't say that it's all nonsensical. Strange, yes, depending on which specific cartoons we're talking about, but most of them make sense pnce you figure what kind of rules apply in each cartoon. Besides, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed Edd & Eddy, and KND all also got pretty strange at times anyways so I have no idea what point it was you were trying to make. Really, most cartoons on That channel have always been strange, whether it's actually Cartoon Network or [adult-swim]. Honestly, even with rose-tinted glasses I can remember that all the really cool and strange shows I liked were on Cartoon Network (Invader Zim and Ka-Blam! being the exceptions).
