I don't consciously use it, but I am aware that I don't like movies about romance and would prefer to watch something that reflects how women really talk to each other.

I can't remember the last time I had a conversation with a female friend about a man apart from asking how my friends parents are. One is a man.

I'm enjoying watching Borgen at the moment. Women talking mostly about political intrigue and trying to solve problems. I like The Good Wife too. There's a bit of romance, but mostly it's "How do we solve this problem?"

I can't think of any movies where women spend a significant part of the movie talking about things other than romance. I'm open to recommendations.

Not a movie, but all Star Trek Discovery episodes.

Though not a movie, the Terminator franchise includes the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles TV series where two of the three lead characters are women.
(Well, sort of, Summer Glau's character is a Terminator.) :skull:

I think the "more than one woman" requirement is stupid, there's a lot of movies in which there's only one male protagonist only.

Tomb Raider movies?

What about the last Wonder woman? Diana and the one of the villains.

These would be extensions of the Bechdel Principle: That women can have conversations that do not involve intimate relationships with anyone.

Maybe no.

It's nice if films do pass the test for a change but I wouldn't really bother thinking about it when picking one. I'd be more interested in if the film was just aimed at men. For example a film where the main characters are two lesbians could pass the test and still be nothing more than "Hey guys look at these sexy women" which I wouldn't be interested in watching.

Just realised "The Haunting" that's quoted in my forum signature would pass the test.
