Ghibli is great indeed.

When I watched Spirited Away I felt happy for about three days; it is really nice.
Kiki is also a nice one. But I liked Laputa, Castle in the Sky better.

Grave of the fireflies is really sad, that one can get me crying. That boy is really alone...

Grave! OMG, I felt sad every time I remembered that movie, and I constantly blamed a friend "it's your fault, why did I see it?!" haha!

My fave one: Only Yesterday, also by Ghibli ;)

How did this turn into "What Anime do you like?". :?
Image Interesting, isn't it?

No, I'm not really interested in what Anime people like.

I dont watch Anime TV series (only one-off movies) because I have a problem with things not ending....

If I were to buy one (I couldn't rent - too OCD), I'd have to start at Volume 1 and wouldn't be able to stop until I got to the "end" of the series, even if it went bad.... very expensive for me.

There are a lot of anime with an end, like Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2nd Gig, Ghost in the Shell: SAC, Paranoia Agent, Texhnolyze, Boogiepop Phantom, Hellsing, and Gilgamesh. I know because I have them all on DVD.

I just tried watching X

It's the first anime that I can't get into.

Is it just me or do other people not like it?

Yeah, when I saw X/1999 I thought that it was not the top stuff from the Clamp people

It's a story about Taeko, who takes a vacation from her desk job in Tokyo in 1982, goes to the countryside with the family of her sister in-law. During her vacation, Taeko finds herself looking back at her time as a young schoolgirl growing up in 1966.
Also has beautiful music by folk group Muzsikas

I thought X was so-so, but I plan on giving the tv series a try because I love the background story of Tokyo Babylon.

I love anime and have way too many favorites. If you're having trouble understanding some of it, you might want to look into Japanese culture. It'll definitely help you understand some of the stuff that goes on.

anime has great stories, i like weirdness in stories too
azumanga daioh, galaxy angel angelic layer the melancholy of haruhi suzimiya, tsubasa chronicle, naruto

as for manga i like lots of different kinds, The Dreaming, XXXholic, Death note , Ouran High School host club things like that.

it is annoying when an anime or manga doesn't have a clear ending cos u r like then what?

anyways two animes i can't wait to see are Ouran High School Host Club and Death note. not out in australia yet.

Ghost in the Shell (all)
Akira

I don't know if it can be classed as "anime", but...

Aeon Flux (The original series)

It can be rather confusing and explicit, but has an excellent commentary by it's Creators. They were setting out to create something of such meaning as to be mysterious even to them, and they succeeded.

I became a fan of anime when I was 14 or 15,I also like Japanese culture it's interesting. I like the espressions the characters make. The one anime I don't get completey is FLCL. One of my favorites is Gto(Great Teacher Onizuka).

I saw the first couple of disks for 'Deathnote' several weeks back and am hoping that the next couple of them hit the states soon. I was reminded of it when I saw Quatermass's 'L' pic.

i enjoy anime, but not as much as i used to. this isn't completely anime's fault, i go to a school with a lot of hardcore (read, scary) anime fans and it was really turning me off.

i still have ones i love though. Azumanga, Bebop, Champloo, Stand Alone Complex, etc.
