EnglishInvader, how can I get hold of all the episodes? My father LOVES Mr. Bean, it's about the only thing that makes him laugh (he's very old and sick). I love Mr. Bean too.

My brother was obsessed with him as a child, which in turn triggered a Mini car obsession and collection. I enjoy the part where Mr Bean's date ends up dancing with someone else in the nightclub and so he shuts the power off on everyone as he leaves.

I have them on VHS, but I believe they have also been released on DVD. Amazon or eBay is probably your best bet.

My mother isn't so well these days either. She likes audio books.

Used to watch and like it when I was a kid but my wife has recently discovered Mr Bean and loves it. Straight away I though he was an aspie. It makes me laugh when he does things and I think 'haha that's something I'd think of' Does Rowan Atkinson actually have aspergers or just a good actor?

I did not understand why it was supposed to be funny when I was a kid, now some episodes are hilarious to me but you know, sometimes I feel terrible when I watch this because he seems so involuntary isolated from other people an nobody seems to really understand him, it somehow reminds me of myself.

I don't like it when fans describe the character as being stupid. I love the show and I have watched each episode several times. I too used to think he was stupid but after actually analyzing his actions I now think of him as eccentric but logical. The humour of the show revolves around him solving everyday problems in unorthodox ways. The reason I don't think he's stupid is at times he has been able to find a way out of situations that would have most people stumped (such as driving his car from the armchair tied onto the roof when he couldn't fit inside having purchased too many items.)

Rowan Atkinson is a comic genius!

I loved the TV series when I was 13. It used to be on Fox Family. I also saw the movie then too and then realized it was based on the series. I also saw the sequel they made ten years later.

I have low tolerance for stupidity, and Mr Bean is the epitome of stupidity. I can't watch him at all. Zero out of ten.

But I love the Black Adder skits. They were silly but intelligent.

Mr Bean is like Mr McGoo. All stupid, all the way down.
Naked Gun and similar fall into this characteristic. I can't watch any of them.

I think so too. I'm more into Monty Python.

Thank you. Love him in Black Adder. The Bean character makes me want to give my eyes a bleach bath. It's like Pee Wee Herman, and I can't stand that character either.

Love Python. Had the hots for Graham Chapman. SWOON!

Mr Bean is one of my favorite series :D I actually started grinning now as some of my favorite scenes with him played in my mind.
I'm also a big fan of his other famous character, Black Adder (as well as the awesome queen who's so into beheading lol).

I still love Mr. Bean, more so now because he's family friendly. It's not that he's witty, but that he's relatable. Bean is more suited for small doses though, so the movies don't have the same charm.

From the interviews I've seen on YouTube, he's very "normal".

I love Mr Bean. I think he is so funny, and I loved the film Mr Bean's Holiday. I always quote (mimicking his voice) a line from an episode where he takes his girlfriend to the cinema and buys himself some Coke and popcorn and hides the Coke down his sweater and keeps the popcorn to himself, when she reaches across for some he moves it possessively to the side and says (in his inimitable way) "It's mine."

I think the reason some women may find him unappealing is because physically he is pretty ugly (and I'm sure he'd be the first to admit it) but that is what makes him such a great character, he has such oddball looks. Perhaps they also don't like that Mr Bean appears selfish with his girlfriend.

I had no idea there was any connection to Asperger's with the character, I can't believe how dim I've been.
