I know it has penguins with rocket packs though, which is pretty dumb sounding. XD

The penguin always did have the best toys...

I liked the '89 Batman and Batman Begins equally.

i love Burton's films as a kid, but Nolan's Batman Begins blows all the others out of the water. don't even get me started on Schumacher's films. i could go on for days about how awful they are.

i seen whole papers written about how horrible Batman & Robin is, it's that terrible. that's why i loved Nolan's film so much. everyone was saying "they got it right" i was saying "there's no nipples on the suit!"

That really sucks. It *should* be an option.

Just what I was wondering . . .

I like watching Batman Forever the best -- which doesn't necessarily make it the best film.

Well, i finally saw "Batman Begins", partly because of rave reviews on here , partly cos figured wouldn't hurt if saw it now, so long after the hype. Previously was afraid might fray/disturb the images/ideas/atmospheres of the brilliant "Batman Returns".
I needn't have worried.
"Begins" has very high production values. Excellent special effects etc. And Oldman is fun, like a rejuvenated John Hurt. And it was refreshing to see Batman frightening the general population!!

But everything else felt like warmed up leftovers. I've seen these characters dozens of times in so many films, spouting the same "deep-sounding" but shallow new-age psychobabble too. None of them came close to the depth and originality of Burtons characters. Even the first Batman, with the Joker, looks interesting next to this.

I agree that it is a well made mainstream action/adventure film, with stuff from conventional male fantasy. But after "Batman Returns", it was just so much filler.

So "Batman Returns" is still my totally top Batman movie. :D :P

In response to a previous post:

Joker SHOULD be funny. But he should be funny in a way that makes you question your own sanity. 'That wasn't funny, he's murdering a schoolbus full of children!'

That's a good point. I just could never laugh at something like that. XD But that's absolutely what I mean: THAT is the Joker.

I am a HUGE Batman fan. Since a kid, he's always been my favorite. I liked him, because unlike other Super-Heros, he didn't have super-powers. Both his parents were killed, and instead of letting that tragic event make him into a monster, he used it to better himself.

He trained hard, studied, and made himself the best possible at what he did.

I liked Batman '89, but I didn't think it was the most accurate depicition of Batman. They made Batman more like Iron Man, where was just some average guy(Keaton) that got into a super-suit and fought crime.

I liked Begins, because showed Bruce's training and what he had to do to become The Dark Knight. Plus, Bale I think was the closes to how I saw Batman.
