There were two Sith. Then Anakin threw Palpatine down a well, and Lassie nowhere in sight. Then he let himself die from the wounds Luke inflicted. (Come on, you don't think that was the best Anni could do, after all those years of practice? Back when he was barely more than a padawan, Anni did a better job than that against Obi-wan, a Jedi Master!)

What makes that really interesting is that it kept Luke from falling into the self-righteousness trap that usually gets Jedi - his path to power involved killing his own father! How "pure" can you claim to be then? :)

It's strange, I was always a pretty unusual fan. I didn't like the moments most Star Wars Fans say like the: 'Luke, I am your father' moment... I prefer the other storylines to do with the Mandalorian Wars and the days of the Old Republic... I probably know a little more than the average fan, though I expect quite a few of you guys know more than I do...

I just always found it strange why Darth Sideous went for that plan, there would have been far easier plans than getting a clone army to take over the galaxy from a huge man made space station called 'The Death Star'...

A good way to get information on the series is to go to wookiepedia, has heaps of information on things, earlier this year I got a bit of an interest (slight obsesion) and just kept going through things to find out. My favirout pieces were on the sith, and some of the other force sensitives, didnt realy memorise it all but I took note on some of the interesting points. I also had an interest on the Mandalorians as a whole, how they at one time had the universe by the neck and if jedi hadn't stood against their own teachings it would have been controled by them. Later on the home world was diminishing and a lone Mandalorian kept up some of the traditions as a bounty hunter (Jango Fett), and ironicly an army to protect the Republic was populated by mandalorian clones. A interesting note is that many of the clones actualy practiced some Mandelorian customs, and some even retired to the home world. Boba actualy ended up becomeing Mandelore who is the leader of the Mandelorians, and aparently has a nack of getting out of seminglessly impossible death situations. I think that they even ended up becomeing a formidible force again.

Well my idea of Sideous choosing his plan is that, he always loved the obidience of droids, of course droids can not do some things liveing beings can, and the clones fit his wishes of perfect soldiers. Also Possibly the death star was an attempt to try and match some of the older sith in power, and strike fear into the hearts of those who opose them, as fear is one of the best forms of control by a sith.

Yeah, I use Wookiepedia alot, Wikipedia is OK, but alot of the info is about the actors and the profiles are tiny and contain hardly any info, and plus the people who edit Wookiepedia actually know what they're talking about...

...Besides the mistake that the Thought Bomb(See my post on page two for info) was destroyed by Kyle Katarn, a rebel spy who actually stole the original plans for the Death Star...

Note: Kyle Katarn was not alive at the time of Darth Nihilus... and neither was Obi Wan actually...

hmm...ya gotta wonder about an organization that eventually is gonna kill ya...;) With only 2, and they both die in the 6th movie, you think they'd have eliminated the Sith even 'longer longer ago'...;)

I don't think I can rank all the Star Wars films but my favorites ones were "A New Hope" and "Revenge of the Sith".

I've come to the conclusion that I like the ideas and themes of Star Wars more than any of the films. The comics and the video games tell much better stories. In fact, most of the stuff that George doesn't write personally is pretty good.
A round of applause to Lucas for creating the franchise. He has a great eye for talent (in bringing the artists together who actually create his vision) and good design sense, but the man cannot write dialogue. After the re-re-remastered original saga, I lost the last bit of respect I had for him. Leave a good thing alone, George.
And Han shot first, damnit.

Episodes V and VI are my favourite films, though. Coincidentally the ones that George Lucas didn't direct himself.

Empire is the best, bar none.

The xpanded universe of Star Wars is better than the movies though. Anyone read the comics?

Star Wars begins and ends with the Holiday Special. Lucas's true motive, everything that lies behind the Star Wars franchise is laid bare. plus bea arthur does a musical number and you get to watch holographic wookie porn.

They should make a Clone Wars-style animated series about the whole KOTOR story. You know, the Mandalorian Wars and the first Jedi purge. Basically the plot of both of the games.

And for #1: Drum roll please....

1. Knights of the Old Republic (seriously, that game kicked all the movies' asses...)

My brother's got that game (KOTOR) and he loves it.

I love the series Droids, I don't care what anybody says, but I think it's better than Clone Wars.

Oh, I agree (although there are a few characters who are almost as good as they are). C-3PO and R2-D2 are definitely my favourite characters in the six films. I feel it's a bit of an aspie thing, or maybe just as many NTs like them the best as well..?

I loved HK-47. He had some of the best lines...

(after mentioning the droid dealer in Anchorhead) "I would still like to crush his head, master."

(during negotiations with the sandpeople chieftain) "He is reluctant to assist you, master. Shall I begin the slaughter?"

(while talking with the jawa in Anchorhead) "There is a 98% probability that he is requesting your assistance with freeing his people."
"What's the other 2%?"
"That he is tired of his existence, and desires me to end it. That may be wishful thinking on my part, master."

That would be the comics, about incidents that happened during the game and previously leading up to it. Don't forget that the Mandalore guy who joins with the good guys fought in that war.

No one and I repeat, NO ONE is interested in movies about the KOTR era. It's fascinating, but it's two expensive cost wise. There are too many plots, counter plots and sup plots.
