Went and saw Argo over the weekend. Ben Affleck is actually a pretty good director. Never saw The Town but I did see the first movie he directed Gone Baby Gone which was pretty good as well. Argo was pretty good and rode the line between comedy and drama more than I expected given the subject matter.

Almost Famous: The Bootleg Cut on blu-ray. Still one of my favorite dramatic movies. I tend to watch mostly sci-fi, action, and some comedy, but there are some pure dramas that I really like. Its kind of hard to compare it to other favorite movies of other genres like The Empire Strikes Back and Lord of the Rings, but Almost Famous would still rank among my favorite movies of all time.

Not a bad action film but, I could not understand why the character of Sinestro had not been considered the antagonist of the film? Other than this it was pretty good..

"Moonrise Kingdom" -

On the whole, I liked the film and would happily watch it again, but I felt that the chemistry between Sam and Suzy was lacking, at least at the beginning. This may be due to Wes Anderson's preference for deadpan acting. By pushing two relatively inexperienced actors to interact in a deadpan manner, they were not able to get across some of the nervous excitement that might be more likely when two twelve year olds run away together. I just kind of got the feeling they were saying their lines at one another, but not really responding to what the other person was doing.

But even still, it's worth watching and the interaction between the two improves as the film progresses.

Wolf. While it was tough for me to buy that Nicholson was a timid, mousey type, he made a great werewolf.

Bill, I have wanted to watch that movie for years. It is a hard movie to find.

I actually watched it on one of the cable channels, though I can't recall which one. The first time I had seen it had been on video years ago.

A French movie called Mutant, which essentially was a zombie apocalypse movie, European style.

I'll list and rate them..

Batman Forever, 7/10. It was decent, some nostalgia factors in there. Jim Carrey's role was slightly darker than I remember, decent job there..

Alive, 8/10. It's a movie about some Uruguyan rugby players who are on a plane that crashes in the Andes. They're trapped there for like... 90 days or something. And the search is called off and everyone thinks they're dead. They're on their own. So they have to eat the dead bodies to survive. It's pretty inspiring once you look past that..

Walk The Line, 9/10. One of my favorite movies actually.

50/50, 10/10. I expected kind of the normal comedy/drama film but this movie hit way close to home. I am a cancer survivor and one moment the movie had me laughing and the next it had me sobbing. Great movie, highly recommend it to anyone..

Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World, 10/10. Again the movie highly exceeded expectations. I expected a comedy film about the end of the world and instead Steve Carrell and Keira Knightley (a very unlikely pair) delivered standing ovation-worthy performances in this movie.
