Its slow at work so I was able to view my pile of tapes and DVD's that I never seen.

Saw: The American version of "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" (very good), Kinsey ( a biopic of the famous sex researcher played by Liam Neesan) very good, and Woody Allen's "Scoop" (cute, okay- you get to look at Scarlet Johansen, ladies get to look at Hugh Jackman). Got more to go through.

Ella Fitzgerald's version of "Its too Darn Hot" ( 'according to the Kinsey Report every average man you know...prefers his lovey dove to court when the temperature is low...") is still going around and around in my head. But if you have to have an ear worm -its a great song to have as an ear worm.

I just returned from seeing The Guilt Trip.

The Guilt Trip is the comic inverse of Psycho without the violence, that is if Psycho was a road comedy and if Norman Bates was an inventor.

One of two running gags in The Guilt Trip is people mispronouncing the name of the cleaning product Seth Rogen's character tries to sell as "Psycho Clean", when it's pronounced as "SCI-O-CLEAN", a combination of the words "science" and "clean."

Saw Breaking Dawn Part 2 the other day. Emotional ending to me. It's like you want more! Oh the cottage scene  Looking forward though to seeing Tom Cruise in his new movie.

Skyfall - second outing because my dad hadn't seen it yet. I now have a new found appreciation for Javier Bardem's scene-stealing and flamboyant turn as Raoul Silva, while Daniel Craig shows that he is the best Bond since the days of Connery.

"The Grave of the Fireflies". Well, that was depressing.

"The Postman Always Rings Twice" (1946 version). I tend to prefer my film noir a bit more stylish than this. The story just kept going and going. It's not a bad film, just not as good as a lot of other films of the type.
