Absolutely! I liken it to a Santa Claus story as if written by the late Charles Bukowski - minus the happy ending.

Mamitas was the last film I've seen recently.
It's about a tough Latino teen boy who develops a relationship with nerdy Latina girl. That's really awkward because that kind of relationship between tough teen boys and nerdy girls doesn't even exist.

I know, but in filmland, it almost did in Welcome To The Dollhouse.

I might see Jack Reacher, the new movie starring Tom Cruise, on Sunday.

"A Night At the Opera" while "Duck Soup" may be the Marx Bros best film, I still like the jokes in "A Night At The Opera" best. Anyway, "You can't fool me, there ain't no santity clause."

Appropriate Adult.
Very dark, dark, dark real life account of serial killer married couple Fred and Rosemary West in England, after their crimes had been discovered. The appropriate adult in question was a woman serving as an advocate for Fred West, who is drawn into his confidence as she finds him alternately almost simple minded, yet manipulative, childlike, yet evil. Through him, she learns of how West and his wife, a prostitute, had sexually tortured and murdered young women and children. When West commits suicide in prison, she is the only one outside his children to mourn him. In the end, she is never sure how much he had told her of how he had felt about her, or of all the things he had done was true or not, as she recalls him as "a lying psychopath."

well, Mamitas is nothin' like Welcome To The Dollhouse. the kid who bullied Dawn Wiener in 'Dollhouse' decides to use her to his advantage in a negative way.

I had my annual viewing of King Kong (1933) yesterday. One of the best films ever.

That movie was fantastic and incredible.

I agree! :D

Same here, the pace never lagged and the dwarves were some of the most enjoyable characters to be portrayed. As for Thorin Oakenshield, he was played superbly by Richard Armitage, he had a combination of Aragorn's brooding and Boromir's arrogance.

Bring on part 2, can't wait now!

Seen The Hobbit twice, in 3D 48fps both times.
The first time it looked to me like some of the scenes early on with lots of rapid camera changes were sped up (which obviously they weren't). The rest of the film though looked gorgeous, so smooth and clear. The second time I watched it I had no issues at all. Loved the story so far (never ready the book), can't wait for the next two!
