I just saw Les Misrables, was totally, completely and utterly enthralled and swept away by Ann Hathaway, Hugh Jackman and Eddie Redmayne. Very good movie. I strongly recommend it. I recommend reading the book even more. That book will effect you on so many levels.

We just watched the Christmas presents my wife and I just got on DVD:
The Avengers.
Barfly.

Incidentally, Barfly has great memorable lines, such as:

"I'd hate to be you if I were me!"
And...
"People, don't you hate them?"
"No, but I feel better when they're not around."

Back on Sunday, I went to go see Jack Reacher, the new Tom Cruise movie.

Awesome action movie with some surprisingly funny parts. Tom Cruise was great playing the lead role, as a jerk who's hired to investigate the murders of five people.

In case anyone here isn't going to see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, I highly recommend seeing Jack Reacher, even if you're not a fan of Tom Cruise.

I just returned from seeing Monsters INC 2D, now in a re-release in both 2D and 3D.

Looking forward to seeing the prequel when it opens in June of next year, called
Monsters University.

"Battle of Algiers" despite the fact that I have no taste for political films, I was thoroughly engrossed in this one. Interesting conflicts, tight pacing. All in all, very good.

"The Blue Angel" it's been years since I saw this film. It's a bit too moralistic for my tastes, but it is still a good film and worth watching. Emil Jannings does a great job at being humiliated. And where else are you going to see someone mop their brow with Marlene Dietrich's panties?

"Another Woman" by Woody Allen perhaps not one of Allen's best dramas, but still pretty darned good. It's definitely worth watching a few more times.

"Albert Nobbs" Glenn Close's performance is one of the best I've seen in a long time. I strongly relate to her character of being an outsider never able to fully live as herself. The story isn't very strong, but the characters make up for it.

I love that movie, it's one of my favorites. It's been awhile since the last time I saw it, but I'm pretty sure it made me cry.
