R. Lee Ermy's performance was amazing, wasn't it?

I saw The Hobbit today in HFR 3D.

Anyone that complains about the CGI sticking out like a sore thumb, or the props looking fake, are a bunch of whiney nitpickers if you ask me. Any of the CGI problems were already apparent in 24 FPS anyways, but overall the 48 FPS version looks phenomenal and the 3D effect worked well. I look forward to more movies in that format, 2D or 3D.

I saw Les Miserables a few days ago and I agree with the previous posters who saw Les Miserables. It was worth seeing and I would like to see it again before I go back to school.

Young Sherlock Holmes and it was directed by Steven Speilberg. It was very good and included suspense and mystery. 8)

The day before New Years Eve, I saw The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in 2D with my mom and my sister.

The problem wasn't 48 FPS, instead it was a lot of panoramic shots. My mom, my sister, and I all experienced sensations of dizziness whenever a panoramic shot came on screen.

IMOO, I agree with what Eelektrik said about people who have complained about 48 FPS.
They're just a bunch of whiney nitpickers making a big deal over a new approach to filming a movie.

Overall, The Hobbit was worth seeing. Martin Freeman was terrific as Bilbo and I am looking forward to the next movie, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

The Return of Ringo (1965) / IMDb / DVD / R2 - Germany - Koch Media

Comments:

Not a particularly memorable film by itself, although Nieves Navarro, who plays one of the leading ladies in the film, is rather hot (actually a lot hotter and sexier for me than the genuine love interest). The film itself is about a civil war soldier who returns to his family land to find his family decimated, his property taken over by a family of Mexican bandits and his fiancee (pregnant with the soldier's child) about to marry the Mexican gangster responsible for what's happened. It's all pretty dull and unoriginal plot-wise. Giuliano Gemma certainly has screen presence, and I think he's been in a couple of other Westerns that I've seen him in. To be honest, the best thing about The Return of Ringo is its score - a typically spaghetti western melodramatic lament kind of operatic lament. But as for the film, it's a little bit take-it-or-leave it for me. Also, Gemma has a nasty twitch during the entire film, and I can't work out whether that is intentional or not!

Reel Evil.
Another horror film captured on hand held cam by the protagonists - this time in a haunted asylum for the criminally insane.

Lucky bugger.

I've ordered a Django T-shirt - of the original 1966 movie - to wear at the cinema.

I have to see Django Unchained when it is released. It's going to be so awesome and so like the spaghetti westerns I love, with many nods to us fans. :D

Last Action Hero

Lackluster Anrold Schwarzenegger movie in a movie. I watched for the references and the Anrold dialogue.

Yesterday, I saw Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away in 3D.

There's not much to rave about this and at times I thought I was watching a recording of a CDS performance.
