"Protagonist" A documentary about 4 people who found their world views challenged and went from black and white thinking to a much more nuanced approach to life.

"The Elephant in the Living Room" Documentary about people who keep exotic pets. Very painful to watch particularly for what happens to a lion.

"The Invisible War" Documentary about sexual abuse in the military and how many women have been blamed for the crimes committed against them. Definitely an important film for any young woman considering military work.

"The Sessions" Polio victim works with a sex surrogate. Laffs ensue. Actually fairly entertaining and likeable. I had to watch this to keep from killing myself after the previous two films.

Die Hard 5. Unfortunately it was bad. Seems Willis just didn't care anymore. Just felt like he was only just dragging his way through a 5th film just because the fans wanted it. He's hardly going to say no to his fans now is he.

1408.
First rate horror film. Makes me want to read the Stephen King short story it was based on.

Re-Animator.
One of the best Lovecraft movie adaptions, and one of my favorite movies of all time.
As a side note, the more I've seen the movie, the more I believe Herbert West is a fellow Aspie. In fact, he remind me a lot of Sheldon Cooper, but with a genuinely cruel nature.

"Chronicle of a Summer" a French documentary shot in 1960 that asks a number of people "are you happy?" I like introspective documentaries and this gives me some ideas for films I would like to make.

"The Thief of Bagdad" (1924 version with Douglas Fairbanks) not as fast paced as a modern action adventure film, but still quite entertaining. The sets are amazing... Everything is done on a gargantuan scale. Fairbanks over acts even for silent film.

Two more documentaries:

"Warrendale". Made in 1967, this Canadian film shows how care givers treat emotionally disturbed children in an "alternative therapy" center. Frankly it seemed like they were doing just about the worst thing you could do to "help" these children. Often it involved holding down and restraining emotionally volatile kids. They also frequently ignored what the kids were saying. For example when one girl kept saying she didn't want to be touched, they kept trying to put their arms around her and insisting she must mean something else. I got the, impression they were doing whatever they could to further traumatize these kids.

"Cowboy del Amor". A gringo cowboy acts as a matchmaker for lonely American men and Mexican women. Things seem to work out pretty well for one of the couples that the film makers follow (although a thanksgiving dinner with the American man's family looked strained). The matchmaker, however, comes across as a pretty dislikable misogynist.

Oz: The Great and Powerful in 3D

Just like Jack the Giant Slayer, this was a very good movie. James Franco, like most critics have said, was terrific as a self-centered con man who vows to change after getting caught in a tornado that lands him in Oz.
