Without giving away any spoilers to those who haven't seen it, what are your overall thoughts of episode 5? Also, is there a GoT discussion thread on here?

Personally, even though I'm unhappy with the extent to which I feel the depth of the original concept was stripped away towards the end, I actually enjoyed episode 5; so much of it was beautifully done.

A certain someone left me very disappointed. Very bloody. But at least a certain confrontation that was a long time in coming finally happened.

It was alright. Pretty much saw what happened coming. Pretty gruesome. A lot of fans feel there's a very noticeable difference from where they ran out of material from the books and the storytelling went a bit downhill.

No GOT discussion thead except for one where most post are about 'haven't see it and or don't like it.'

I'm gonna assume I know exactly what you're referring to and say - yes, I'm glad that confrontation finally happened. I liked the way it was filmed and the way it ended, as tragic as it was; and even though that person was one of my favourites

Oh yeah, 100% they are no match for RR Martin. The beauty of his story-lines is that you could never predict what was going to happen next; no one had plot armour and that made every character so much more real and valuable. Since the last season I've been watching it with the feeling of "beggars can't be choosers", so my standards are pretty low by now; that's probably why I was able to enjoy episode 5 as much as I did. There were some scenes that I really liked; the one between T&J was pretty sad
