I had been working on and off on a short story called In The Shadow Of The Pines - and now since that movie's release, I feel like I have to come up with a new title.

I like the title you have chosen. I think you should fight the power and stick with your title.

Gotti (1996)

Made-for-HBO gangster movie about John Gotti. Pretty good.

I watched six movies in the last three days.

Thursday, I watched The Birth of a Nation. I deserve some kind of medal for sitting through all 190 minutes of that.

Friday, I watched The Exterminating Angel and Haxan - yeah, I was raiding the Criterion selection on Hulu Plus.

Yesterday, I watched The Toolbox Murders (the original) and Beyond the Darkness, because man cannot live on critically-celebrated cinema alone. Then I watched A Woman Under the Influence. That was a unique triple-feature.

Today, I'm taking a break from the movies.

Sorry if I sound like a moron, but it's actually called The Place Beyond The Pines.

Thats the one. I could not remember the exact name. Ryan Gosling is really good in it.

Dusk Til Dawn III--The unlikely adventures of Ambrose Bierce in a whorehouse staffed by Mexican vampires.

The Raven--The unlikely adventures of Edgar Allan Poe immediately before his death in 1849.

Both were pretty bad, but I enjoyed Dusk Til Dawn III... It was the best Mexican-whorehouse-Ambrose Bierce-vampire-western I've ever seen.

The Killing

Crooks plan a robbery at a racetrack and after pulling it off, things fall apart. One of Stanley Kubrick's earliest efforts.

You should actually change the title only if your story is similar in tone to The Place Beyond The Pines.

A standard by-the-numbers biopic that proves the obvious about America; that America still has a long way to go before racism becomes obsolete.

It's not; it's a horror story.

Being There

Chance, a gardener who has never been outside the estate of his employer, has to leave when his employer passes away. Having learned what he knows from television, his words are often mistaken for more insightful thoughts. Excellent movie!

I wanted to see it since it's true story, but I was hesitant since its about racism. I didn't want to see violence. Did you like the film?
