Eight Men Out

Film about the infamous Black Sox scandal. In 1919, underpaid players of the Chicago White Sox agreed to purposely lose the World Series for money from gamblers. After losing, two sportswriters smelled a fix and the players went to trial. Although they were found not guilty, they were banned from baseball for life.

I'm sure everyone knows the storyline.
For me it dragged on in spots, not surprising with a 2 hour 45 minute film ( probably the longest movie I've watched)..though despite that and the brutal torture scenes..it was worthwhile.

A married man has a one night stand with Glenn Close and she obsessively stalks him.

I just got back from seeing Pain and Gain.

I was surprised by how much dark humor was in Pain and Gain, but the movie was not a dark comedy nor an action movie, but a docudrama based on actual events that happened in Florida in the mid-1990s.

Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, and Anthony Mackie were great in the lead roles and this is definitely one of Michael Bay's better movies.

Bull Durham

An experienced minor-league catcher is sent to educate a young up-and-coming pitcher of the Durham Bulls. Meanwhile Susan Sarandon, who has an affair with one player of the team every season, picks both players as potential 'draft picks'. This film is where Susan and Tim Robbins met and became partners until 2009.

Life Force.

Tobe Hooper's take on sci-fi/horror about a vampire invasion coming from Haley's Comet. Yes, it's as goofy as it sounds. The only bright spot in the movie is an excellent performance by a pre-famous Patrick Stewart in a character role, despite the awful material he had to work with.

A young man falls in love with a woman named Summer who doesn't believe that true love exists.

The Last Exorcism.
A former evangelical minister and exorcist takes part in a documentary showing the tricks of the trade - and then discovers that the case being filmed has more truth to the demonic possession than he could have ever believed. Good horror movie.

Voices.
South Korean horror film about an epidemic of murder surrounding a school girl. Now let's see Hollywood crank out an American version.

The Prestige. Jeez, what a mind screw. I'll have to watch it again.

Evil Dead remake. Very good, not cheesy.

Language of a Broken Heart (2011) - A woman thinks a man can change, but doesn't. A man expects a woman not to change, but she does. I thought that was memorable.

Fargo. One of my favourite films by my favourite directors the Coen Brothers.
A Serious Man- also a Coen Bros film, Very underrated.

Conan the Barbarian

The 1982 Arnold movie where he seeks revenge against a snake cult and their leader played by James Earl Jones.
