Darren Aronofsky is currently my favorite director. If you liked Requiem so much, you should check out his other 3 movies as well and see if you like them. His movies thus far are; Pi, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, and The Wrestler. He is just wrapping up filming his new one, "Black Swan", as well. "The Fountain" is probably my favorite movie of all time. :)

In all honesty, the three Austin Powers movies. I'm waiting for the 4th one.

To single one out I would probably go with Being John Malcovich.

OMG! I really want to see Being John Malcovich! It looks so good!

Synecdoche, New York is amazing!

My favourite film - and I suspect always will be - is Lawrence of Arabia. The first time I saw it was when I was 7 and it was on crappy TV no bigger than my arm. It just entranced me, all four hours of it, just mystifying. I'll never forget it.

my top picks:

LAWRENCE OF ARABIA
2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY
THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION
GOODFELLAS
AMELIE
THE THING
THE QUIET MAN
JAWS
12 ANGRY MEN
A CLOCKWORK ORANGE
ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA
BLUES BROTHERS
DAS BOOT
TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE
NORTH BY NORTHWEST
THE EXORCIST
MAGNOLIA
THE APARTMENT
THE WILD BUNCH
SNEAKERS
SINGIN' IN THE RAIN
THE VERDICT
TENDER MERCIES
THE BICYCLE THIEF
KAGEMUSHA
THE HUDSUCKER PROXY
MR SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON
TERMS OF ENDEARMENT
THE MALTESE FALCON
OX BOW INCIDENT
INHERIT THE WIND

This changes all the time for me, but most recently I watched Fight Club and, honestly I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. Typically books that turn into movies aren't as great as the book, but this one reeeally blew me away. I loved that even with having read (and remembering most of it) there were still parts that confused me.

I'm pretty good friends with the man who optioned the novel before it was published, when it was just a scrawl of notes from a possibly deranged lunatic. The making of Fight Club will one day make an awesome film.

I don't know if I have a favourite movie.

Lust, Caution is probably a pretty close contender, along with Swimming Pool.

I didn't care for Synecdoche, however.

I recently watched a Jane Eyre mini series on netflix, and it was excellent. It was the 1983 version, and by far the best film adaptation I've seen of it. Such a beautiful story :).
