Also, I'm not sure if I like River or not. I mean I do like her, but she's kind of a big know-it-all at times and that bothers me. Still, I'm certainly interested in seeing how her story unfolds.
I feel the same about her. She annoys me a little.

I am still pretty scared by the angels. Last time I couldn't sleep for a week without the light on, so I'll see how I go tonight.

I don't think River is the Doctor's wife, for what it's worth. I think she's a timelord... probably an evil one. Remember when she whispers to the Doctor, and he says "there's only one way I'd ever be able to tell you that"?

I think she was with him when he dies, in the future, the final time. That's why she's such a smug know it all, she knows his end.

It would be a bit of a turn up for the books if she turns out to be the master!

Or the Rani. But I don't think she's a Time Lord. Whether she's human or not is up for debate, really.

She is either a mercenary or a criminal, but her smug nature may be the side effect of something else than a malevolent nature. I'm guessing that she is a Time Lord historian who got a bit too obsessed with tracking the Doctor down, did some very bad things in order to capture him for study, and is spending the rest of her life making up for it.

That's just a theory, of course. The only person who would know for certain is Steven Moffat, and maybe Alex Kingston. Remember, their relationship can't have been on too bad terms for the Doctor to remember to give her his modified sonic screwdriver.

Steven Moffat did indicate that she is different from what people expect her to be, so she's definitely not the wife.

Here's an idea way out of left field.

What if she's the TARDIS?

Not as it currently is, obviously, but as a human/TARDIS hybrid (anyone who's read the New Adventure books, I'm thinking about Compassion). It answers a lot of questions - the ability to read/write Gallifreyan, the consummate ease with which she can fly a Type 40, her knowledge of the Doctor...

This last point is a particular sticking point. She commented when she "first" met him (from his perspective) that it was "early days" from the look of him. Since this latest episode appears to only be the second time he's met her (again, from his perspective) it seems strange that she should know his previous incarnation at all prior to her one, final meeting. Unless, of course, she's met him many times - in some other form.

There was plenty of time between Waters of Mars and The End of Time for the tenth Dr and River to meet up. I mean, he had time to ruin the reputation of the "virgin" queen (nuff said) and to name a galaxy Alison. So who knows how long he was gone, or what he got up to.

Anyone else wonder about Amy being a Pond and the non Mrs being a River? Do still waters run deep, or am I just getting confused?

I noticed that. At first I wondered if Amy and River were one person (before the series began) but now I am just confused! I don't think she's the doctor's wife as many people have insinuated (not here). She's right, that would be too simple. Interesting theory about the Tardis...

I guess we'll have to sit back, relax and hopefully good old Mr Moffat won't keep us in the dark for too much longer! I might just have to go and strangle it out of him otherwise!

I've just got this week's Radio times which has an interview with Alex Kingston. She doesn't know anything about her own character! Maybe they won't reveal it until the next series...

Personally I think that she is/was/will be the Doctor's wife. When he said there'd be only one time when she'd find out his name. Surely it would be at their wedding. Mr and Mrs Doctor doesnt really work.

Though I guess she's a criminal and she exploits the order they meet to get him to help her while he still doesnt know what she is. Plus at the start of The Time of Angels the guy in the suit kind of identified her by the use of hallucenogenic lipstick which could hint she's quite prolific. Plus the whole thing about her being in prison.

The relationship between The Doctor and River us purpousfully being shrouded in mystery. There is no way Steven Moffat would have Amellia directly ask The Doctor if River was his wife if that was actually the case. When it was actually revealed that would be incredibly anti climatic and not line up at all with how things are going now. I'd put money in that River is NOT the Doctor's wife. They do, however, have some sort of personal relationship in the future. That man did say that The Doctor couldn't know what River is. He could mean her being a theif, but I don't think so. That's not bad enough. Perhaps she's not human, or it relates to The Doctor's future in some big way. Only time will tell. But I simply can't wait for tomarrow. I'll be grabbing the new episode from England the moment it goes up with bittorrent.

Flesh and Bone I love it!

Favourite part of the episode

"Do you trust him?"
"I trust him with my life"
"And you're sure he's not some mad man?"
"....... I trust him with my life"

This Doctor seems a more fun Doctor ^^

Not saying David Tennant's Doctor wasnt soooo cool but the new one isnt as bad as everyone thought he would be

He was BRILLIANT. These two episodes were brilliant. And finally he's been given an opportunity to spread his wings a bit, and show that he not only has the oddness and charisma to be the Doctor, he's also got the depth.

Also, who said he was the aspie doctor? I loved Amy coming onto him, and saying, "do you know what I mean?" "Yes... actually no." Not once, but twice, and then running away!

Best lines... "That's a fairy tale." "Aren't we all?"

Did you notice the continuity error? I'm sure there's something going on there.

Loved it, loved it, loved it.

Can't wait till next week!

Oh, forgot to say... River isn't the Doctor's wife, she's his executioner!

Well, that's what I'm currently thinking anyway.

Continuity error? What is it?

I did notice they've started reusing some things..

Like the Toclafane were supposed to be fairytales too. Plus he refered to Amy being the most important person in all of time which has changed very quickly considering it was Donna last season..

And I would agree she's his executioner but you know nothing's ever as simple as that.. Although the crack in the wall was blindingly obvious this series..

Given the oddity with Rory's ID badge in the first episode, there might be something going on here.

Oh my God... How did you spot that!? I only looked because you told about it! I had to watch it about 3 times on my iplayer to spot that!

For those who cannot see it again, The date is apparently 2010 in Amy's future, however Rory's badge says he became a nurse in 1990. That would have made him about, what... five years old!?

I'm assuming that is what you noticed anyway!

The continuity error was that the Doctor was talking to Amy when she was sitting with her eyes closed, then walked off. Then walked back from a different direction, only this time we see he's wearing his jacket (remember the angels snatched it earlier) and told her to remember what he'd said when she was seven. Then he kissed her on the head.

So... I'm thinking, the Doctor walks off in one time zone, jacketless. Then at some future point he walks back to Amy, tells her to remember, and kisses her forehead... this time jacketted.

Also, remember her sitting on her suitcase when she was seven, as the sun was coming up, and we hear the Tardis? I'd thought it was her imagination, but now I'm thinking he actually goes back to little Amy at some future point, to tell her something important.

About fairy tales. Remember he says her name Amelia Pond is a little bit fairy tale.
