Dr. Cooper is more buffon than asperger's. Dr. Reed on Criminal Minds is more the ideal on asperger's. (abusive childhood, ueber intelligence, especially in the humanities, etc.)

You also might wonder about Detective Munch on Law and Order: SVU.

Dr. Cooper may be a bit of a buffoon. However, he does have many exaggerated aspie traits (OCD, encyclopedic memory, trouble understanding sarcasm etc.). Plus, He's cast as the smartest character on the show. I think if NTs start to associate super intelligence with asperger's it would be a good thing. I'm tired of people assuming that I'm dumb or crazy because I can't make eye contact with them properly. I'd personally rather be associated with the smartest guy in the room.
