My list is pretty extensive, and I'm working off the top of my head here. I will try to restrict myself to films where the sexuality of the protagonists is central to the film, rather than an incidental characteristic.

For brevity, I will leave out titles already mentioned.

And the Band Played On--This is one of the more important films to document our recent history
Another Country--Rupert Everett, Cary Elwes and Colin Firth in the flower of youth! :)
Beautiful Thing--very apt title
Bent--The holocaust happened to us, too. (And there's Clive Owen! :) )
Bishonen--a tearjerker from Hongkong
The Boys in the Band--I had to think about this one--but it's important enough as an historical work to make the cut.
Broken Hearts Club
C.R.A.Z.Y.--Québec during the quiet revolution.
Edge of Seventeen--Best. Soundtrack. Ever.
The Hanging Garden--another little Canadian gem
I Think I Do
In and Out--but only for Kevin Kline's scene with the self-improvement tape
Jeffrey--Patrick Stewart's peformance is fabulous!
Krampack (Nico and Dani)
Lillies--another terrific Canadian film
The Living End
Longtime Companion--a story set in a crucial time
Love! Valour! Compassion!
M. Butterfly
Maurice--Merchant Ivory tackling an important literary chapter in our history
Milk--our political "coming of age"
My Beautiful Laundrette
Parting Glances--a little slice of the 80's
Peter's Friends
Le Placard (The Closet)
Priest
The Sum of Us--if only for Russel Crowe mooning over John Polson
Torch Song Trilogy
Trick
The Wedding Banquet
Zero Patience--a charming musical (and another Canadian film ;) )

My favourites are Loving Annabelle, Imagine Me and You, Brokeback Mountain. I also love Some Like it Hot which isn't a LGBT film as such but the guys are in drag so I think it qualifies. I love it.

The Fox and The Killing of Sister George deserve honorable mention as being late 60s trailblazers. The Children's Hour was delayed 30 years by the Hays Office Censors but was still timely in the early 60s.

That was a humdinger. That was very close to hard core.

another one worth watching only because of its technical quirks [it was the first movie to be partially shot first on ED videotape then copied onto film] was "norman, is that you?"

Party Monster was a wonderful film that captured life in NYC during the height of the club kid era.

I think a great LGBT movie is Chuck and Buck. For those familiar with the movie, I would like to state for the record, yes, it is creepy and icky on more than one level. That's why I asked my wife to get if for me for my birthday.

Anyone name Prick Up Your Ears yet?
If not, it deals with the British gay play writer Jack Orton, played by Gary Oldman, and his lover - and murderer - played by that guy who played Dr. Octopus. Great movie.
