I suppose that could be true, although then Marty, Doc and Jennifer should have had new memories, which they did not.

And now, take a look at this:

(warning: contains some semi-offensive remarks regarding sex, racism and...well, you'll see)

Still love the movie(s), though. :)

The third is my favourite, but all three are up there on my "best films ever" list :P

Has anyone noticed the mall's name change in the first BTTF? In the beginning of the film it is called "Twin Pines Mall." When Marty goes back in time "Old Man" Peabody chases him with a shotgun. As Marty runs away he trips over, and breaks, one the twin pines. Later, when Marty returns to 1985, the mall is called "Lone Pine Mall."

Yep. Just like "Clayton Ravine" becomes "Eastwood Ravine" at the end of the third movie. :)

yes I did, upon a viewing many many years later.

Oh, and check this out:

all three Max Headroom-style "waiters" in Cafe '80s are now deceased.

Another fun thing: they're offering Marty "Pepsi Perfect". Max Headroom's big--albeit failed--push was New Coke.

Of course. The sign is featured very prominently in both shots, it's hard to miss it. Especially as we saw one of the pines get run over.

I cried when George stood up to Biff and laid him out, and then walked off with Lorraine with a slow version of the Back to the Future Overture playing.

Probably my favorite trilogy ever.

Starting on Monday, they began to air the trilogy on Nick at Nite with one movie each night.

One thing staring me in the face during Part I was an edit of the parking lot scene with the Libyans. Doc says "I'll draw their fire!" The next thing we know, Marty sees him on the ground and jumps into the Delorean. And yet they still kept in Marty trying to give 1955 Doc the note and then the end with the bulletproof vest.

I'm glad the movies are being shown to potential new viewers and of course I'll always stop and watch them, but at least present it right.

Yup, they edited a LOT. I've been watching that movie in its entirety since I was 6, so I saw the inconsistencies too.

How about the scene in Lou's Cafe where Marty is writing the letter to Doc: "The night that I go back in time, you will be shot....Please take any necessary precautions...."

Originally, he wrote "shot by terrorists."

And then, at the dance, when Biff's thugs throw Marty into one of the bandmember's cars, Skinhead says "Beat it...this don't concern you." The word "spook" was deleted (though that's understandable).

(Btw: I had no idea what "spook" meant for many years. 8O )

And so on....Glad I own the unedited trilogy now.
