It seems people already know who he is. It's like the police detective who's father is the killer in the Black Dhalia murder.

I have to ask; which theory might that be? I have never seen any consensus concerning the Ripper's identity. Admittedly, some theories are better than others.

They are saying they are pretty sure who it was. I don't know where but thats what they said. Just like they seem to think they have figured out who the Zodiac Killer was.

There are plenty of people out there who are more than happy to tell you that they know with certainty who Jack the Ripper was, who the Zodiac killer was, and who the Black Dahlia killer was. They'll stubbornly hold on to their theories, refusing to let them go no matter what kind of evidence emerges that contradicts them. But the only real certainty is that there's no certainty at all. There's nothing even resembling a consensus in these cases.

Actually with the Black Dahlia Killer the cops said if the cops dad was still alive he would be charged with the murder. Watch Most Evil.

I know that's a popular theory, but since the particular detective's book about his old man came out, there has been another book claiming that Elizabeth Short had been murdered on the order by L.A. crime boss, Bugsy Seigal.

I think the detectives theory holds more water. Especially with the art that artist painted and how it so closely resembled the dead body.

So why are movies disturbing to us. What are some reasons? I think my main reason would be it hits home.

The more plausible/realistic a movie presents itself as, the more disturbing it is, IMO.

But he takes it to entirely new level of freaky and disturbing with NAKED LUNCH.

I can think of at least two things wrong with this title- Nelson.
Sorry couldn't resist. :D

I really want to see this but a uncut DVD release in anamorphic OAR hasn't materialised.

How about the documentary Graphic Sexual Horror?

How has no one mentioned Audition yet?! The bag... Dear god, the bag!! !

The 1968 version of The Fly also deserves a serious mention. It may be a bit pedestrian by today's standards of body horror, but the difference is this movie is actually GOOD and disturbing.

Creepshow, Pan's Labyrinth, Cube, and Trick 'r Treat all deserve a mention too, but more because I think they're good than disturbing. XD

Threads? It's an oldie, and was made on a low-budget, and a lot of non-Brits might not relate to it… but by Christ it packs a punch.

Holy crap! Watched it on YouTube, couldn't sleep for days. I thought A Boy and His Dog was the most disturbing I've ever seen, but Threads takes the cake. One reason for its disturbing nature was its reality. It really could have happend that way. Thank God the Cold War is over.
