Another vote for "Bad Santa." And the South Park movie.

:Raising Arizona" was good, tho' partly because I live near where it was filmed.

"Spinal Tap" is funny if you are a musician.

The original version of "The In-Laws" was good. "Dog Day Afternoon" is funny in a weird way that might appeal to Aspies.

Spaceballs was a long time favorite for a good laugh.

I bought Something About Mary and Bruce Almighty on VHS at the thrift shop. They were both very funny movies--well worth watching--that, without your recommendations, I would have just skipped over.

Please recommend some more!

By the way, the first two Harold and Kumar movies are very funny, if you get a chance.

I saw the first one, and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I haven't seen Harold & Kumar 2 because I didn't feel the need to see a sequel. Even though there were a lot of American-Pie-style poop and sex jokes, I liked how this movie was fairly conscious of its own genre, and also how they played with the racial stereotypes. As my father is half Indian and my mother is half Chinese, basically, I could relate to these two characters.

I just got a black comedy from Ireland called The Guard for Father's Day, and every time I watch it, I laugh uproariously.

Thanks very much for the recommendation. It didn't make me laugh out loud, but it is an excellent movie.

  • Idle Hands ("Evil Dead 2"-hand gone wild)
  • Bio-dome (only 4.0 score at imdb, but it's Pauly Shore after all, he's the love/hate type)
  • Hot Fuzz (already mentioned here, but I must repeat it! I laughed so hard when I saw it at the cinema with my wife)

It's difficult to pick the funniest, but the last movie that made me laugh really hard was Four Lions. It's dark and you need to stay open-minded watching it, but I thought it was very funny and original.
