i do not watch anything more than once.

many times, if i am "watching" a movie, i will fast forward to the final scene to see how it all turned out.

when i watch a movie (rarely), i get impatient because the early scenes are just building blocks that set the scenario that will be finalized at the end of the movie.
mostly, i get so impatient to see how it all turns out, that i fast forward to the end to see what the finale is, and i consider that i have saved time in doing so.

i am not interested much in movies.

with music, i get the idea early in the song, and i most often stop the playback and try to play it on my synthesizer because i want to be personally involved.

there is some music that i will listen to entirely because it is genius like frank zappa or mozart. i can not recreate that so i sit and listen.

I listen to some song or watch some movie like 350 times in a row enjoying it every time.

Hell i watched FLCL so many times I don't even need to have subtitles on.

What is FLCL?

I can't stop watching the Phantom of the Opera (heck I wasn't expecting someone ELSE to like that in this thread!), the movie version. When I am not watching that, I am listening to the soundtrack over and over again. Guess what I am listening to now... Phantom of the opera!

I also listen to several Andrew Lloyd Webber CDs on a loop.

I loop all the time besides movies and music, comic books and novels too and foods occasionally. I do notice I tend to loop them at certain times of the year(mainly the time I first heard/saw/read whatever it is) I have a stack of cds I carry with me to work in my backpack and about 10 or so remain unchanged but I'll add to them others from whatever era I'm going for. But for example every September I'll play KISS' Animalize,WASP's s/t disc,in October KiSS' Dynasty,Iron Maiden's Killers and # of the beast,Judas Priest's Unleashed in the East and British Steel,Black Sabbath's Heaven and Hell, and in November KISS' Music from the Elder.
Now movies and tv the same thing. I don't ever get tired of it either!

I also like to loop music and watch DVDs over and over again. Im a big fan of The Simpsons and I love watching them over a lot. I like to loop music from LOTR, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Star Trek, and a lot of other music.

I have these discreet phases (usually several days or weeks) where I watch the same film or films. I become totally obsessed and immersed in them. And often I will sit and listen to the same song over and over because of the images it creates in my head.
