I mentioned this before I think Bono has it alot of the early U2 songs when Bono was about the same age as me some of those songs I can relate to alot.
I also think Damon Albarn from Blur/Gorillaz/The Good, The Bad, And The Queen has it as well because there was an interview he did back in 1995 where he said he likes to be on his own and he does have problems socialising which he expressed alot on The Great Escape album.
No, there's no way Bono can be Aspie. He could probably be ADHD or ADD (though I'm just guessing and probably am wrong even about that!), but not AS. From everything I've heard he is way too social. He was fairly popular in school from everything I've read, and popular with the girls before he was in a band, even though he was not even that great looking then.
He was a sensitive, intelligent, artistic (not autistic) kid who lost his mom, who he was very close to, at age 14, and that affected him a lot. After his mom died, he was left with his dad and much older brother, who I guess he didn't get along as well with--they all were hot-tempered, too, so there was lots of fighting and arguing. He was brought up a Prostestant in a Catholic country, and felt weird about that even though his dad was Catholic. There are a lot of reasons why perfectly NT people can feel weird or out of place, particularly as a teenager, if they're at all sensitive. You've heard the expression "teen angst"--it applies to NT teens too. I remember being shocked to learn later that some kids I thought had everything, popularity, looks, success in love or dating, were hiding something like depression or anorexia.
If you're around the age Bono was when U2's first album came out, you might not realize it yet but NT's don't always have it perfectly easy when it comes to socializing or how they think others feel about them. Having family problems or losing a parent can really hurt too. Even though they have their friends tot turn to, NT teenagers probably do best if they at least have one parent they can talk about stuff to (For instance, I don't think Bono had that with his dad, at least not as a teen). They can just hide their doubts and fears better than Aspies, is all, or the majority of them can. They can also be sensitive and thinking people, and some of them can get passionate about things other than socializing or making more money than anyone.
