I did see it in a cinema. I like the photography and visuals. I'm just not into the love story which is weak at best, taking precedence over the despair of real families / couples who had loved each other for years.

I agree. I just love the ship and the detail they put into recreating it. And the last hour, the sinking, is great in the cinema.

Have you seen A Night to Remember?

It’s amazing - and much better characters.

My daughter is obsessed off her rocker with La La Land. She even flew to LA by herself to go to the filming locations. Yeah, she’s ASD lol. Anyway I didn’t want to watch it but felt obliged. In the first few scenes I wasn’t sure. By the end and the final scene, I was sold. I loved it and had to see it again which is very rare for me. I’m not obsessed but I do love a musical.

It seems impossible that I haven't seen it. I've definitely read the book. Several times. But I don't think I have seen the movie.

I'm going to have to rectify that asap.

I hate ET and Memento and Charley (Flowers for Algernon) not because they are awful but because they scare me, enter my unconscious, and cause me to think really negative thoughts. Maybe I’m just overly scared about being a sick alien or having a brain “issue” which is pretty much my story even though I don’t “look” autistic whatever that is supposed to mean.

I really didn't like Everything Everywhere All at Once and La La Land. I tried to give them a chance, but I found both of them very annoying. I don't turn off movies part way through very often - I like to give them chance, but I found these two unbearable. I turned of Everything Everywhere All at Once about 45 minutes in and La La Land 10 minutes.

I don't care for the Weekend At Bernies movies To me they are so unbelievable. If a mouse dies somewhere in my house the stench is over powering; yet they want me to believe the stench from a dead human (which weighs much-much more than a mouse) is bearable and unnoticeable.

Since the sequel is out, I didn't like the original Beetlejuice. I didn't understand most of the plot and didn't find it funny. The guys I was watching it with thought it was hilarious.

Rocky horror picture show. I absolutely despise that movie. I think it purposely promotes degeneracy, and we need less degen stuff in this society (I'm not a paragon of morals, but still).

Tim Curry is still awesome though

The Godfather.
I don't care if it's "the best movie ever made", I think it's rubbish, made worse through having to suffer through Marlon Brando and his ridiculous chipmunk cheeks.

How or why could she possibly hate La La Land?!

It's a musical and my mom has always hated musicals.

Openheimer because it's really boring

I've also written off comedies because I don't find modern woke comedy to be funny.

Most superhero movies because they are repetitive

Weird Science. Bland AND borderline misogynistic in an unfunny and uninteresting way.

Most of the what was called teen movies that were the rage during the 1980s were misogynistic by today’s standards. “Weird Science” was relatively mild in that regard.

Fair point. I've sat through far worse in terms of that sort of thing in older movies, so that wasn't my particular issue. The movie was just boring and unfunny to me, so that aspect of the movie made it stick out more. If it had been executed in a funnier manner, I would have likely cared less about that aspect of the movie.

Anything by David Lynch, Quentin Tarantino or Martin Scorcese.
