I don't mind needless sequels and prequels that are actually GOOD or even better than the original (yes, it can happen). I just don't like the crappy ones.

I don't think I've ever hated a movie as much as Brazil, by the end I was shouting at the screen "just freaken' end it already!". I appreciated the film making that went into it, but it was not only depressing, it just went on, and on, and...

I also hate endless sequels, especially if they're to horror movies that sucked in the first place. Torture porn would also make my "worst" cut, it seems to be the new thing in horror movies, not sure what that says about society...

Movies marketed to the "urban" demographic. Not just Tyler Perry and his garbage, but junk films full of rappers trying to act, large and "sassy" black women, barbecues, you know what I mean. Every time I see a trailer for one of these films, I have to conclude that Hollywood thinks blacks audiences are stupid. And the sad thing is, they must be at least partially right, since the keep making these movies. Not a comfortable thought.

Knock offs. You know, all those "epic" movies that came out after LOTR was so big, or all of the "deep" kung fu flicks after Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon? I hate those off brand imitators, how dumb do those producers think I am?

BTW, Collateral and No Country for Old Men are two of my favorite movies. The former is one of the only good movies with Tom Cruise in it, he really aught to consider playing more villains. I didn't think Vincent was really all that villainous though, more like he was just very dedicated to his job, that happened to be killing people. Now Anton Chigurh, THERE'S a villain for you. He totally owned No Country, his crazed menace, not to mention his cattle stun gun, just lowered the temperature every time he was on screen. I would ad the caveat though, if you really want to understand the film, read the book afterwards, it will make a lot more sense.

thank you! Collateral is the one movie i hold up as an example that Tom Cruise is actually a good actor. it's the one movie that makes me wish he wasn't totally hopped up on crazy.

Oh, and I almost forgot, a certain rotund "documentary" film maker from Michigan, who seems to have a little trouble with the facts. I have some mixed feeling about him though, as he does such of good job of making left wing politics look ridiculous, I don't know whether to hug him or hope he drops dead...

With a handful of exceptions ("Miracle Run"), Lifetime movies all seem to revolve around rape, murder, violence, etc. One comedian aptly stated, "Lifetime, television for women-but in nearly every movie, a woman gets beaten up."

I agree. And they are of the same technological level as the prime-time soaps of the 80s (Dallas, Falcon Crest, Knots Landing, etc.--and often feature people from those shows).

I have a bar book that actually describes the liqueur Campari as: "An Italian liqueur that is ruby red, and as bitter as the producers of Lifetime: Television for Women."! Of course, this bar book also has a recipe for pruno in it...

And the teasers for this dross always come off as "She was raped by the whole town, and then nobody in the whole town believed her!".

I don't really hate one specifically but I really don't like most popular ones b/c they are so poorly made as far as scripting and acting goes it's all pretty people and good guys win :x

I don't like movies with bad endings. Even though I also don't like impossibly soppy movies with unrealistic and cliched happy endings, I like to see a moderately happy resolution. Movies with heaps of sequels also give me the irrits.
