Oblivion

Apart from some sappy moments, I thought it was good.

I just watched "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" and really enjoyed it. It kind of took me by surprise. Worth a watch for sure.

Chained.

A boy is kidnapped by a serial killer named Bob (Vincent D'Noffrio), and kills his mother. Renamed Rabbit by his captor, the boy is kept at first as a house slave, and is chained up after he tries to escape. Forced to cooperate in Bob's kidnappings and murders of women, Rabbit struggles to keep his humanity, especially when Bob wants to teach him how to hunt and kill, too. Himself having lived through incomprehensible physical and sexual abuse at the hands of his own psychopathic father, Bob in a strange, twisted way tries to be the loving father to Rabbit that he himself had never had. And unknown to Rabbit, Bob knows the full truth about the unthinkable secret behind the kidnapping of Rabbit and his mother. Great movie for lovers of psychological horror.
This gem was directed by Jennifer Lynch, the daughter of the greatest probable Aspie movie director of all time, David Lynch.

12 Years a Slave

The film about Solomon Northrup, a New York State black man who was kidnapped and made to work as a slave in plantations in the south in the 1800s. Based in part on Northup's memoir. Emotionally exhausting and hard to to watch at times.

Devil's Pass.

Found footage horror film about a group of American college students making a documentary film investigating the real life mystery surrounding the brutal deaths of a group of Russian hikers in the northern Urals in 1959. They discover too late that someone desperately wants to keep the horrific answer to the mystery undiscovered. Pretty decent horror film. Made me jump more than once toward the end.
