We Need to Talk About Kevin

A 2011 BBC Films adaptation of the 2005 novel by Lionel Shriver.

Starring Tilda Swinton, John C Reilly, Jasper Newell and Erza Miller (young and adult Kevin), the film focuses on the difficult life story of Eva Katchadourian. Told out of order, the film jumps between the present and recollections of the past from Eva's point of view.

The present-day Eva is a much-hated pariah, suffering verbal and regular abuse from the community two years after her son committed a high school masscare, murdering several students by bow-and-arrow. She visits her son on his last day in juvenile hall, as rarely, Kevin expresses concern, chiefly about being moved to an adult prison. On her way there, Eva reflects on how difficult life has been with her detached and anti-social son ranging from detached emotional behaviour to outright psychological (and later physical, as Kevin gets older) sadism.

A very emotive and gruelling film with excellent performances all round, especially from young Jasper Newell as the nightmare child.

this was a great, but gross movie. i liked that archery was in it, but not for the killing people part.

I saw the new "Captain America" film last night, and was truly impressed by it. I can't go into many details without using spoilers, but the plot definitely took some twists I wasn't expecting. All the main cast members brought their best game to the table, along with some familiar supporting players like Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill. My only complaint is that Emily VanCamp didn't have more of a role in it. All told, the movie gets an excellent 9/10 from me.

Glad you liked it. My sister and I plan on taking our mother to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier in a few days because our mother's birthday is in a few days.

A Film Johnnie

Short Silent film. Charlie Chaplin goes to the movies, falls in love with an actress on the screen, and goes to Keystone Studios to meet her, but he messes everything up.

Whilst staying round my father-in-law's place, I got the chance to see The Winter Soldier... Ummm... I can see why it's been well-recieved by its intended audience but to be honest, I found myself getting bored 40 minutes in. That said, I liked the fighting choreography so kudos to the actors for pulling off some convincing fisticuffs.

I just finished the Dr-Who series yesterday.

Today I watched a movie called Attila (2013 horror flick),
On a scale of 1-20 with 1 being the worst, I rate it maybe 7.
It sucked.

Also watched Pirate Fairies, (2013 kids cartoon)
More befitting for little girls then boys, but it was OK,
I would rate that one about a 10. girls may like it much better and give it a 14.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Very, very enjoyable flick, and first rate super hero movie. I won't give away any of the plot for the sake of spoiling the movie for those fans not familiar with the Marvel canon, and so don't know what to expect. My primary criticism concerns drifting too far away from comic book canon, when they had had an excellent story to draw from.
Then there's the question: how is Agents Of Shield going to handle the fate this movie has dealt them?

Think ill try watching this today.
If its been out in theaters longer then 3 months I can find it to watch on the net for free.
and if I like it enough I then buy the movie and add it to my collections.
