The Poseidon Adventure. The original 1972 Irwin Allen Movie with Gene Hackman, not the new remake. It's a disaster movie that is actually good.

that was some excellent ensemble acting. the remake could have learned something from it.

Antiviral.

Sometime in the near future, the culture of celebrity has reached such a fever pitch that stars sell their viruses when sick to companies, who then sell them to clients, the clients believing they are becoming closer to the rich and famous. This is the profession of the lead character, Sid March, who is also selling viruses on the black market to genetic engineers who make steaks out of the matter for customers to eat. But more, March himself is addicted to injecting himself with the viruses of the famous. When a famed German model named Heidi Geist reportedly dies from a virus that March himself has injected himself with, he realizes something has gone terribly wrong. Trying to find a cure as he becomes sicker and closer to death, March discovers there is something bigger behind this than just the sick addiction that drives him.
If this movie sounds like something that David Cronenberg would come up with - close, but it's actually written and directed by his son Brandon Cronenberg. Wonderfully twisted, creepy, and perverse! Highly recommended!

The movie called DOA I'm thinking of starring Dennis Quaid probably isn't the one you're referring to. What is your DOA movie about?

the 1950 Edmund O'Brien number about a poisoned fellow finding out whodunit before he kicked the bucket. I just think that bits of the DNA from that movie might have ended up in Antiviral.

Actually, the Dennis Quaid movie was a remake of the 1950 DOA. I never saw the original, but the remake was pretty good.

Not that recently (within the last half a year) I watched The Wind Rises on the big screen in Toronto, Ontario. The animation was amazing on a big screen!! !

Chico & Rita

A 2011 Spanish animated movie following two Cuban lovers in the late 1940s/early 1950s. Womanising Chico falls genuinely in love with Rita, who is desperate to make it in America as a big-screen singer. Beautiful blend of 2D and CGI animation, and a mesmerising soundtrack. Proof animation isn't just for children.
