Watched these again with the audio commentaries turned on.

Vegas Vacation (1997) doesn't have a commentary, unfortunately.

I have the box set for these films. The first one is the best.

Persepolis

Animated biopic based on a pair of autobiographical graphic novels by Marjane Satrapi, who also directed the film adaptation. Good movie that showed a perspective on people who live in the Middle East, particularly Iran.

You can watch Persepolis in either English or French.

Howl's Moving Castle.

"When an unconfident young woman is cursed with an old body by a spiteful witch, her only chance of breaking the spell lies with a self-indulgent yet insecure young wizard and his companions in his legged, walking home."

now that my limerence is seemingly over i've started watching Ghibli movies again. this is the first one. let's just say that that colossal, crusty-on-the-outside-palatial-on-the-inside teetering amalgam of a castle is one if the most whimsically weird things i've seen in a movie. the painterly style certainly did not hurt. but just how the hell do those skinny legs support that massive palace anyway???? 8O

i was not really expecting the witch to stay with them though. either way, very nice.

this movie i rented from the library, just like watching ghibli films i've not done that in a while either. the other one that came with it was Patton, with George C. Scott, but that one was so f-d up that while i was enjoying it on my computer, outside in the brick night and writing to another member at the same time, it just gave up on me in the middle!! ! ("Ol' Blood n Guts" the scene was called) and i couldn't get it to work again. needless to say, that member got my PM early. :D

yep. library movies.

Howl was better at least, in terms of performance on my laptop. but only on my laptop. i rented what i believe to be the exact same disc before about a year ago, and my dvd player said: "Incorrect Disk".

It was brilliant.
It is out in the Uk, not sure it's release date in the USA.
But definitely a must see, I would say.
Very well acted, and it is also quite obvious that Alan Turing is portrayed as someone on the autistic spectrum.

Snowpiercer

South Korean film set in the near future where the world is frozen after a failed attempt to reverse climate change. The few living humans are on board a giant train called the Snowpiercer. For 17 years has traveled the world with it's own economy and class system. The lower class people in the back of the train plan a revolution.

Kyle, if you don't mind me asking, where do you get your short, concise film summaries (without spoilers?)
or do you write them yourself? I got my last one from IMDb.

as for me, i've seen no new movies.

Same place you did: IMDB. I change/add words to my wording, though.
