In the last few days, I've been on a sci-fi movie-watching spree. I've seen The Signal (slow, not much action, but the ending is an eye-opener), Chronicle (some annoying teenage boy nonsense, but good story & special effects, unexpected ending), and Coherence (my favorite; weird, very original plot, a bit too much talking/drama, but escalating suspense).

I saw Fury with Brad Pitt.
Ok movie, great tank battles, but no story and nothing really going for it.

I recently watched "Hugo" which was directed by Martin Scorsese. I think it is one of the best movies he has ever done and well worth all the praise it received when it was first released.

As Above. So Below. It was an okay movie... kinda wish it would've had a stronger ending though.

The Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Second time seeing this movie, this time on DVD. Just as good and funny. A must see.

My high school English teacher showed us the 1971 Roman Polanski version of Macbeth after we read it. I wonder if she even knew anything about it, if she just grabbed a movie version at random, because it's the most shockingly violent version of them all. Nobody was laughing at that one. It's a great version, though, and certainly stuck with me, even though I didn't really like Shakespeare at the time.
