Astro Boy the original. It was very popular among children in 1965 in the U.S. which I was one.
I noticed that in the latest version Astro Boy has a much lower voice which makes him sound more sophisticated or worldly. Do you think this is because children in general have become more worldly as well, and why?

My Neighbor Totoro when I was about 5 or 6. It was one of my favorite movies, though I didn't actually know it was an anime back then (nor did I know what anime was). I used to watch pokemon and sailor moon ages 7-10, but didn't actually get into anime until I was 12 and started watching Dragonball Z.

suprisingly when i was seven i found my bro's dvd of urotsukodoji and watched the whole thing, it was quite disturbing and shaped some of my sexual viwes to this very day.

I do vaguely remember watching Astro Boy and Voltron, so one of those was probably the first anime I watched. But the first anime I actually watched and recognised as anime was Pokemon.

The first anime I saw was speed racer, the the first I recognized was Pokemon, I believe, but maybe DBZ. The first one I saw that wasn't on tv (rather, on dvd) was either either evangelion pr excell saga (awesome theme song). The first I saw to completion was the first (of course) Fullmetal Alchemist series, which happens to be the only anime if have seen to completion, but I've read a few manga to completion, such as death note and black cat, and some that are ongoing.

Sailor Moon was the first anime I ever watched. I was obsessed with it back then and I'm still obsessed with it today. :wink:
