Have only seen three of those I think, being John malkovich, the big Lebowski and oldboy though I might be confusing oldboy with another odd Asian film (there are a few,,after all) gotta watch Dr Strangelove already. Thanks for some interesting choices.. :) not that everybody else was dull. Thanks to all.

have seen a couple of Woody Allen's but the names don't stick. Take the money and run; is that with the cookie store/chain? Loved that one whatever it's called.

Wings of Honneamise, anime movie about the first guy to go into space. It's really a marvellous movie, just totally great. Not popular for some reason, maybe cuz it's a bit slow, but still, fantastic movie, great animation, great soundtrack.

Not exactly that great a recommendation, it being presumably very well known but anyways.. Last film I sawwas "man on fire", I found it quite compelling. Some torture scenes and not exactly a cheery film but quite good.

Again, this is just a glorified bump though ;)

Unleashed - as if you didn't know that already.

Erm, what else.... This is Spinal Tap! Watched it with MONKEY a couple or so weeks ago. Funny but I don't quite know why. It just, is.

This is spinal tap is awesome. :) can recommend unleashed and seven too. Though seven has a fair bit of nastiness, I think nobody else minds. Anyways.

I strongly suggest the Planet of the Apes movies, especially the original, Escape from the Planet of the Apes (despite the incredibly upsetting ending), Battle for the Planet of the Apes and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

I decided to watch the 1968 original the other day. It is soooo much better than the 2001 remake.

I'm not sure if this counts since it's really a TV series, but 'Sherlock!' is incredible! More like a series of movies than television really. Super brainy.

I wasn't a fan of Blade Runner; it strayed too far from the book on which it was based, for my liking :(.

A Time to Kill
The Departed
American Gangster

Comedy: The Hangover
Crime: Léon The Professional
Documentary: Waste Land
Drama: Fight Club
Family: Literally any Pixar movie
Fantasy: Pan's Labyrinth
Film Noir: Strangers on a Train (sorry, I don't know a lot of noir movies)
History: Joyeux Noel
Horror: I don't know any good horror movies. Sorry. :( I generally avoid watching them for obvious reasons :P
Musical: Grease
Mystery: ?
Romance: A Very Long Engagement, Amelie, or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Sci-Fi: Another Earth (your mileage may vary whether it's truly sci-fi or not)
Sport: Angels in the Outfield
Thriller: Inception
War: Does Captain America count
Western: I don't know any...

Top movies I recommend though are any Miyazaki movie, Pixar movie (except Cars), and Jean-Pierre Jeunet movie.

Indeed. One of my all time favourites.

I also recommend The Hangover Part 2. I watched it again last Saturday. Almost too funny.
