The movie was called "Women In Love." I won't say the movie was stupid, but it was extremely WEIRD. From the title, it was supposed to be about women in love, but how then tie that in with the very odd scene, where two men strip down to their skin and wrestle in front of a cheerfully crackling fire place? Or the scene where one lady cracks her boyfriend in the head with a glass paperweight and he runs through the woods, stripping as he goes, and wiping the blood from himself, with grass and bits of shrubbery? Maybe its me, but it seemed horribly weird and pointless.

The Will Farrell movie you're thinking about is Anchorman.

Movies which insist they have plot & characters, esp. ones trying to be high-concept, which are really just softcore porn. Esp. the ones made in the 80s with 80s production values. Has anyone ever seen an on-screen attempt at sci-fi porn? Sometimes not even the nudity is enough to keep me watching ... blegh! :eew:

Argh. I did a collage with a picture of a girl from Kazakhstan in art class, and when I pointed her out and said she was Kazakh, some asswizard responded with a Borat impersonation. I feel sorry for anyone from Kazakhstan right now.

Anchorman...and thank you. it's nice to know i'm not alone in my disdain for that movie.

all my friends love it, the only people who don't like it are me and my screenwriting teacher. it's infuriating.

Yeah its stupid, but its supposed to be. Not everyone 'gets' stupid humor, but I enjoyed it. Then again I also happen to love things like Kung Pow: Enter the Fist and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

But if you want to talk completely idiotic movies that aren't doing so for humor value and have no reason to exist, Its really hard to top Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.... Somehow I've ended up with 2 copies on DVD...

American Pie. Everyone was making such a big deal out of it being good. By the time I watched that movie, I thought, "Did I miss something funny hear." Just not real big on slap stick comedy, esp. when it's about masturbation. I did think some of the characters were appealing but that's as far as it got.

Borat and Napolian dynamite. I think I just don't "get" films like that (and I have no intention to either)

Blood: the last vampire: forty minutes of opening sequence. Even the animation isn't pretty enough to make it worth it.

Eragon, but any film based on a book so poor is going to be appalling.

The Birds. Even Psycho didn't live up to my expectations. I am not a Hitchcock fan.
