Big Stan, a direct-to-video movie starring Rob Schneider. The first time I watched it I thought it was funny, but it got old around the third time. I didn't really like the climax of the movie for some reason.

My brother, on the other hand, adores Big Stan. He thinks the character The Master is really awesome.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian

Amy Adams' voice in the movie has an
uncanny resemblance to Katherine Hepburn's voice
that Amy Adams' performance is about a 9.2 on the Cool Scale.

Hank Azaria was hilarious as a nasty, lisping Egyptian pharoah.

Previews Seen Before the Movie:

Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince: INTENSE!
Has moved up at least two spots on my "Must-See" list!

UP: No more nice Pixar for any fellow Pixar fans here.
Pixar always delivers and they will deliver this time.

Ice Age 3: Will be in line 4th of July weekend watching this.

Planet 51: Cheap laughs may equal a dumb movie.
Concept is interesting, but let's hope this flops when released this November.

Nine: Not the musical, but the animated movie
about the apocalypse Tim Burton has been working on for some time.
Elijah Wood, John C. Reilly, and Jennifer Connelly
lead the voice cast. What more could you ask?
However, the release date of
September 9th, 2009 is obviously awkward.

Next movies I plan on seeing are UP!, Angels & Demons, and Land of the Lost

I'm going to see Adventureland sometime this weekend. I'll post what I thought of it later.

Just came back from watching Adventureland. It's probably the best new film I've seen this year, with an excellent script, fantastic dialogue, and memorable characters. It's a coming of age/romance drama with some comedic elements, written and directed by one of the writers who worked together with Judd Apatow on Freaks & Geeks. The cast is uniformly excellent. The only criticisms I have of the film is that it is formulaic, and that the film is being marketed poorly as some sort of raunch comedy, when it's really more of a drama.

Next movies I'm planning on seeing include Up!, I Love You Man, and 500 Days of Summer.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans - 6/10, it was ok nothing really memorable

My Bloody Valentine 3D -3/10 - so bad I had to turn it off after 30 minutes, the 3D just couldn't save it from being excruciating cheese.

Notorious (ie. Biggy/Chris Wallace story) - 8.5/10 - very good movie, I think a lot to like about this one as well regardless of whether or not your a hip hop fan.

Appaloosa - 3/10 - I get the impression that Hollywood, by its own convictions, is trying to relegate the cowboy movie to our ignorant, racist, pro-Christian past by making them as badly as possible.

Last couple few movies i've seen...

UP - Absolutely amazing as you would expect from Pixar. Not as good as Wall-E, but still, so few people can so consistantly make something so entertaining while keeping it so meaningful, and just brilliantly made.

Defiance - This was pretty sub-par =/. Its like they tried too hard to make it some Oscar winning movie, every other line and scene of the movie was so over played and the writing too sappy. Like all the epic historical movies tend to have that one quotable line, the "Immortality is yours, take it!" or "they may take our lives, but they may never take our freedom!" lines, this one tried to do that with every other line. If you can look past that, its not bad, a good story and I always enjoy seeing war movies from a point of view other than an American soldier.

Taken - Was awesome. I knew it when the producer credits rolled and I saw Luc Besson's name that it'd be good =P. It kinda smelled a bit of Hollywood's cheesy happiness, like it had a good edge to it, but coulda gone farther, if that makes sense. But still good.

I saw John Rambo Friday night. Really good but definitely graphic (along the lines of the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan.)

I saw Slumdog Millionaire (sp?). It dragged on and it was very gritty in the same way that WWII movies with big budgets are and the "music video" was awsome. He's Just Not that into You sucked balls. It was way too long and the plot was cliched and misogynistic.

I have seen Knowing and Crank 2: High Voltage. I really didn't want to seen either of those movies, but my dad insists on dragging me and my mom to the movie theater every Saturday or Sunday.

I'll go with The Haunting in Connecticut as, it was not that bad a film yes, some of it could be telegraphed but, otherwise a creepy film overall..
