It was good , different from the other Dracula movies I've seen.
In my opinion
It's kind of like "300" movie, but I liked it.

I went to see American Sniper today. I'm not particularly impressed like others seem to be, but I didn't have any "Oh god, when will this be over?" moments so it was good for what it was.

Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991)

Image

Dig that original poster art. Much better than what was used on the Blu-ray cover.

Year: 1991
Director: Kazuki Omori (Godzilla vs. Biollante)
Stars: Kosuke Toyohara, Anna Nakagawa, Megumi Odaka
Long Story Short: Time-travelers prevent Godzilla from ever having existed, so they can use the three-headed dragon King Ghidorah to destroy Japan with no rival monster to stop him. The people of Japan now consider Godzilla to be the lesser of two evils, and have to find a way to bring him back to battle and defeat Ghidorah.

Year: 1998
Director: Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead, Spider-Man)
Long Story Short: Three friends find $4.4 million in an airplane wreck and decide to keep it for themselves. It's not long before everything spirals out of control and good people are doing horrible things.

The Interview, it was pretty funny, although James Franco got pretty weird in it.

Jessabelle.

Pretty good horror film concerning Jessabelle, a young woman who survives a car accident that kills her boyfriend, causes her to lose her unborn child, and leaves her recuperating in a wheel chair. With no where else to go, she is taken in by her alcoholic father who she has been estranged from since childhood, in rural Louisiana. Soon, she discovers video tapes made by her late mother, who had died, she was told, of brain cancer soon after she was born, in which she is warned about an unwanted presence in the house. Her father, in a mixture of alcohol fueled anger and fear, destroyed the tape, saying her mother was no longer the person she should have been at the end of her life when she had made those tapes. Then her father is killed in what seems to be an accidental fire. Jessabelle is also having all too real nightmares and visions of a horrifying mixed race girl who wants to kill her, till she comes to believe that this girl is the unwanted presence her mother had spoken of. But as she, and an old flame from high school dig deeper into secrets and mysteries surrounding her family, she begins to realize there is something more terrible than she had imagined, steeped in Voodoo rites and murder.

Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla

Image

1993 / Directed by Takao Okawara (Godzilla vs. Mothra, Godzilla 2000)

Frustrated with failed attempts to destroy Godzilla, the Japanese military hatches a new plan: build a giant mechanical replica of the monster to combat him. It actually seems to be working, until Baby Godzilla and the giant pterodactyl Rodan get involved.

Soldiers in a future war contend with killer robots that are becoming more sophisticated, self-replicating and evolving. What started as small machines that burrow under the ground have become androids that appear completely human, and can be identified only by the ear-piercing shriek they produce.

Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994)

Image

Mothra carries into outer space some of Godzilla's cells, which are sucked into a black hole. Out comes an evil clone of Godzilla, hellbent on taking over the Earth. Godzilla is the only hope of defeating the clone, but he's being hunted by various people trying to either kill him or manipulate him through a mind-control device.

I like the artwork on those DVD/Blu Ray covers you're posting Jory - are they all by one artist?

Incidentally, what did you think of Pacific Rim?

The Godzilla artwork is from the original Japanese posters. Unfortunately, they haven't been used for the DVD and Blu-ray covers. Those look significantly worse, like this:

Image

Not horrible, but the original artwork would have been much better.

I have no idea who the artist or artists were for those posters, or if they were done by the same person. All I know is that they're friggin' gorgeous, and I would be happy to frame any of them on my wall.

I typically use the cover art for the DVD or Blu-ray edition of whatever movie I'm watching, but if the original poster looks better, I'll use that.

As for Pacific Rim, I didn't like it half as much as most monster movie fans seemed to. The acting and writing were embarrassing and the action didn't do much to impress me. I thought Godzilla 2014 blew it away. I'll give it another shot in the near future, though. I revisited Godzilla 1998 not long ago and actually found myself enjoying it, even though I used to hate it. I'm constantly changing my opinions on movies, hating stuff I loved years ago and vice versa, so who knows.
