The cheesiest Dracula you've ever seen fights the cheesiest Frankenstein you've ever seen.

There's more to it than that, but nobody's watching this kind of ridiculous crap for the plot. This one is right up there with Plan 9 from Outer Space.

The DVD is surprisingly excellent. Nice to see classic schlock getting this kind of attention.

Was that one of the old Universal classics?

Nope. Dracula vs. Frankenstein makes the Universal movies look like Citizen Kane in comparison. It was made in the late 60s (released in 1971) and was made up of footage from three different unfinished films, and it's about as cheesy as it gets. Here's a text review from a critic who gave it negative five stars ("so bad it's genius," according to his rating system) and here's a video review from Cinemassacre (aka the Angry Video Game Nerd) if you wanna see footage from it.

Watching the video, I was trying to think of something to address those travesties that try to pass as horror films, and have been so devastatedly stunned that all I can say is: as God is my witness, I had no idea anyone had ever made a movie called Blackenstein.
It had also been painful to see Lon Chaney Jr. in his last role in such a Godawful movie.

Kind of boring and simple minded, but it was fun to watch.

Blacula is actually a pretty good movie, but the same can't be said for Blackenstein. It's more amusing knowing it exists than actually watching it.

Could be worse. He could have faded away in forgettable crap like Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff. Dracula vs. Frankenstein may be awful, but at least it's entertainingly and memorably awful. I'm stunned that Mystery Science Theater 3000 never featured it.

Oh, I'm well aware of Blackula (never actually watched, but know of it), but I had no idea that anyone had made a piece of crap called Blackenstein. So much for the days of exploitation films.
And while Chaney, like his peers had also faded to the obscurity of crap films, it's painful to see the Wolfman, who had genuinely scared me as a kid, get regulated to something so terrible, that it's remembered only because it is so terrible.

Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)

Michael Keaton plays a washed-up actor, who once played the superhero Birdman. He battles his alter ego as he attempts to recover his family, his career and himself in the days leading up to the opening of his Broadway play.

A straight-laced 1950s American family is expecting a visit from a European cousin. Little do they know that Count Dracula, escaping persecution from his homeland, has killed the cousin and taken his place.

The head of Pre-Crime, a police division that uses psychics to predict future crimes, goes on the run and attempts to clear his name when the psychics predict that he's going to kill a man he's never heard of before.

I liked it. I'm not sure how it compares to the book, but I think it's a good drama with a very sad ending.

I liked the movie a great deal, myself. I have read the book, and it was in fact a very good adaption. Not only as a literal adaption from page to screen, but also in how it captured the very spirit of the Fitzgerald book.

The latest Night at the Museum, I thought that one was pretty funny actually....Just re-watched the original Ninja Turtles live action movie not the one that was recently released. And also saw the newest Godzilla within the last couple months I liked this one a lot better than the Godzilla movie they made in the early 00's where they made it out to be an evil sort of creature....when in all the old movies he's actually trying to fight an 'evil' monster to protect earth and the newest Godzilla stuck to that which I thought was pretty cool and he looked more like the original in that movie as well.
