Yes, and as you doubtlessly know, it was more recently remade with the original title of the novel both were based on, Red Dragon.

I think Red Dragon was O.k. Not terrible but not great. I think Manhunter is awesome.

I thought Brian Cox was a good Hannibal Lecter, too. Cool and detached, without the devious cruelty of Anthony Hopkins version, though I like both.

The movie I most recently purchased was Bob Fosse's Lenny, the semi-biographical film about comedian Lenny Bruce from 1974. Great Dustin Hoffman performance.

I saw Manhunter after Red Dragon and yet I would say Manhunter was still more tense and gripping!

I watched this movie 'The Conspiracy', thought it was pretty entertaining. Basically couple of guys decide to make a movie about conspiracy theories and don't like where the rabbit hole leads.
