The Hobbit trilogy

Now, I want to watch LOTR again.

Selma.

Truly heartfelt, truly great movie about a pivotal chapter in the American civil rights movement that had occurred in selma, Alabama. The character of Martin Luther King is fleshed out as a flesh and blood man, where he is shown as both the sainted champion of American liberty but also with feet of clay, particularly in regard to his alleged marital infidelities. Lyndon Johnson really isn't given a fair shake in the movie, as he at first throws up road blocks in front of the civil rights movement - probably for the sake of drama - but in the end, he does the right thing. Tim Roth plays a villainous, one dimensional Alabama Governor, George Wallace, but in all fairness, how can someone defending racism be portrayed otherwise? While history buffs (like me) might take exception to liberties taken with historical fact for the sake of drama, it's still an outstanding movie.

Insurgent

I finally got a chance to see this yesterday, and even though this tries way too hard to be like The Hunger Games, this wasn't a great of a movie as the first Divergent movie.

Selma

A showing of Martin Luther King's campaign to secure equal voting rights via the march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965.

Although I couldn't even remember when was that last time that I watched a romantic/drama movie I saw The Fault in Our Stars last night and I must confess that I didn't thought I would feel this sad because of a movie.
