Goosebumps
Season 2 - The Vanishing (2024) - According to IMDB. Season 1, according to Hulu.

Episodes 1 through 7. Watching episode 8, the last episode.

Scarier than the Goosebumps I remember from the 1990s, and maybe the books. I read a few to my sons back then. Perhaps made to appeal to the kids that watched it back then, and grew up, but not necessarily for their kids. There is some family drama, and very scary moments. I enjoyed it, but would I let my seven and eight year old watch?

I never watched, nor I have watched the show Friends, but David Schwimmer is in it. He has a pleasing personality that comes across in his character. Reminds me of Ray Romano.

The Bureau of Magical Things
Season 1 (2018)
episode 4 - Gone to the Dogs
episode 5 - A Knight to Remember
episode 6 - The Test
episode 7 - Fairy for a Day
episode 8 - Shortcut
episode 9 - On the Beach
episode 10 - Unchartered Waters
episode 11 - A Fairy Tale
episode 12 - Aisle 13
episode 13 - Forces of Attraction
episode 14 - The Eye of Horus
episode 15 - Judgement Day
episode 16 - The Prize

This not a heavy and dark program. It is a bit like the first few Harry Potter films, gears towards young viewers, or adults that enjoy fantasy and don't expect dark sinister heavy threats. It can be dark and sinister, but it does it with a light touch. It's delightful.

There are elves, fairies, a halfling professor, mother and father were not both magical, like Harry Potter. There is a teenage girl, very non magical human, who accidentally becomes magical and must gain the trust of the magical teens and adults she meets. Eventually, something else accidentally happens, and she becomes a mega powerful magic person, instilling fear in some of the adult magical people. The elves are the worst. Sorry if there are any elves out there. No offense is meant. The fairies are quite sweet about things. One elf, who reminds me of an imaginary offspring of Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger. If you have not seen or read Harry Potter, it would be a teenager with the an ambition for power and intelligence (Draco lacked intelligence).

This is not a Harry Potter spinoff/ripoff. It is an Australian television series with good and bad magical people and I suspect good and bad non magical people. Not muggles though. That would be Harry Potter's world.

Four more episodes for season 1.

I'm watching this on Netflix.

(a few hours later)

Finished season 1
A delightful story. Now for season two.

Is that Dexter or Dexter: Original Sin?
Both are excellent.

Just finished season 2 of The Bureau of Magical Things (2021)

... and cake and custard sounds good.
