Kent State (1981)

TV movie about the protests on the campus of Kent State University, Ohio, in May 1970, which led to 4 students being shot dead by the National Guard.

Interesting enough, presumably accurate in the essentials, clearly sympathetic to the cause of the protestors but portrays most of the soldiers as pretty human too. Ellen Barkin was the only actor I recognized.

My version was on a VHS tape that seemed to be about 30 years old. I get the impression this film may be difficult to come by these days.

I... vaguely remember that movie from when I was a kid.

Rescue Dawn, I like to think of it as the sequel to Empire of the Sun

The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

I wasn't sure about this film, because I have vague memories of watching the television series when I was a child, and I know I really enjoyed it. I remember enjoying David McCallum as Illya Kuryakin. He sometimes wore a tactical black turtleneck. Now I enjoy his character Ducky on NCIS. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It has the backstory of Napoleon Solo, Illya Kuryakin, and the beginnings of U.N.C.L.E. It had humor, action, and occasionally fast cars. I now wonder if I were to watch the series again, would it live up to the movie?

The Skeleton Twins

I watched both of these streaming on Netflix. I gave the both 5 stars.

"Born Yesterday" - Melanie Griffith, John Goodman, Don Johnson. It was okay----but, don't ever feel disappointed, if you missed it.
