Its painfully obvious esspecially when watching begins that nolan and the actors are trying so hard not f**k up the whole bat franchise and overacting to the extent where it just looks weird and and spoils the film in a way becasue there trying too hard to make the film as good as they can do becasuse there shaking in thier boots and are probably terrified about it being a let down.

You mean Schumacher f**ked up the original franchise, which was trundling along nicely under Burton until Warner Bros took away the darkness and wanted kiddies in the auditorium. Clooney has been in several excellent movies, O'Donnell is now relegated to terrestrial tv, and where is Alicia Silverstone? Oh yeah, forgotten!

It all comes down to audience satisfaction, which Begins and TDK deliver in spades (despite all the negative talk, but everyone is a critic).

But do you agree with me that in begins the actors are shaking in thier boots and acting to the point where it looks phony becasue there so scared of bringing the bat franchise back from the dead successfully?

No, im disagreeing with you. They knew they had erased the camp memories of Schumacher films from the memories of Bat-fans across the world, it's the 21st century for christ sake! Doesn't the fact that inspiration from Year One, The Man who Falls, The Dark Knight Returns and the Long Halloween is present in both entries? I'll admit that i was skeptical about another Batman film 3 years before Begins was done, needless to say i was proven wrong beyond a shadow of a doubt.

On a completely different note, you might want to check the poll i started on who should be next to direct a future film, its on the second page. Your name is listed purely for a piss-take and your not getting any votes, MWAHAHAHAHA!

Funny because I was let down when I first saw batman begins on DVD back in 2005. I was even more let down 3 years later when I watched The Dark Knight on DVD.

The cinema makes it more dramatic and entertaining than it really is though.

I like debating though because I need to proove to you guys that you are wrong about Nolans films being the best and superior and Schummacers and Burtons adaptions.

If your argument is that Batman Forever is superior to the Nolan films then I think you're going to have a very difficult time persuading people to your side.

Calling Batman Forever escapism seems a little like Tommy Wiseau calling The Room a comedy.

no one cares about escapism when batman is concerned.

read this: http://cinemareservoir.wordpress.com/20 ... -escapism/

key paragraph: "The assumption that modern audiences are too sophisticated for over the top, occassionally campy action films is absolutely wrong, and an idea I blame on Joel Schumacher, director of the last two pre-Christian Bale Batman films. Batman and Robin, while admittedly over the top and campy, especially turned the tables on escapist cinema."

I don't think Jamesy knows what an opinion is.

He is a stupid, arrogant child in a grown mans body who has absolutely zero social skills and is a disgrace to people with Aspergers and is the person that we don't want associated with us because of how bad he makes Aspergers looks.

Correction, the Burton films were surreal. Schumacher's were like made for tv episodes.
