I'd recommend The Wanderers. It's a brilliant greaser film, but edgy rather than cheesy. It's often confused with and overshadowed by The Warriors due to the similar title, same year of release, and guido gang themes.

Actually, watch both :D not on the same day though, otherwise it could get confusing.

Remember: Don't f*ck with the Wongs.

Tears for Sale- I recomend this to anyone who loved The Fall, or Pans Labyrenth.
I loved the dark, sort-of laughing at death humor, and amazing imagery, - brilliant movie.

I really enjoyed the wanderers, very funny and some great accents (bonus for me) so would recommend it as well.

Also I recently saw "the lost bladesman" follows the story of some "die-nasty" warriors ;) with donnie yen as guan yu. Was quite awesome :)[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phbe3sda38M&feature=youtube_gdata_player[/youtube]

Might have mentioned it before but I recommend the movie "crossroads" the one with Ralph macchio, the karate kid, not the Britney spears one.

It probably seems pretty cheesy to some or most I dunno, but I like it. Ry cooder and Steve vai playing some heavy blues..

freebie and the bean [crazy dysfunctional buddy cop movie]
american pop [rotoscoped ralph bakshi masterpiece of musical americana]
waking life [another rotoscoped mind-blower, that will make you exhale in relief when it's over]
reanimator [the uncut version, probably among the rudest films made]
made in heaven [about a guy who dies and is reincarnated]
resurrection [about a psychic who is misunderstood]
osmosis jones [escapist animated fare, very technicolor and earthy]
the yearling [this one will thoroughly rinse out your tear ducts :( ]
smokey and the bandit [period slapstick fare that will give your abs a workout]
the blues brothers [ditto, but with better music]
on a clear day you can see forever [very romantic and musical reincarnation flick, with ornate eye candy backdrops]
seconds.... [chilling to the bone]
the exorcist [a masterpiece of terror and overall creepiness]
ghost [i never get tired of watching this flick, it's the one that gives me hope]
paint your wagon [comic western musical which features the sepulchral "singing" voice of lee marvin, and the well-meaning "singing" voice of clint eastwood  ]

Somehow, the notion of Lee Marvin singing is beyond my comprehension.

his singing skills were rudimentary at best, the producers tailored the arrangements to his limited vocal reach, concentrating on his basso strength. his whiskey and cigarettes voice actually is relaxing to listen to, very mellow and deep. the song he sang was "wandrin' star" and it fits him like a glove. consider watching "paint your wagon" 'cause i'd like your opinion of it. harve presnell [the operatically trained baritone singer who later played daddy warbucks in "annie"] also sings "they call the wind mariah" thoroughly nails that song as well. ironically, the singing voice of jean seberg was dubbed by anita gordon.

whiskey and cigarettes made many "greatest generation" men's voices sepulchral.

Actually, while Lee Marvin probably shouldn't have quit his day job, he wasn't all that terrible, either. I recall one episode of The Simpsons where they had done a parody of Paint Your Wagon where they imitated both Eastwood and Marvin, in which Marvin comes off as tone deaf.
