I saw "The Color Out of Space" the other night, a movie based on the Lovecraft story of the same name. The story was a lot better. The film was appallingly bad. I began fast-forwarding after an hour, then I just quit watching. Poor Lovecraft.

Sorry, did not see thisreply.

I think it is a great movie and one of Jim Jarmusch's best. The cast is pretty amazing. The symbolism of the characters is subtle, but very poignant. But even as a prison breakout caper, it is fun.

The Ninth Configuration.

Written and directed by William Peter Blatty who wrote the Exorcist, based on his other book Twinkle Twinkle Killer Kane. Very offbeat. Had a lot of funny lines.

Is a sequel to the Exorcist in a way because the main character is the astronaut Regan told "you're gonna die up there".

The Bank Job

Despite being technically a biopic, this underrated heist film starring Jason Statham has IMO aged very well since it was released back in 2008. Centered around a retired crook (played by Statham), he is recruited by an old girlfriend to participate in a bank robbery. However, it's not money the group is after but something else that may cause the robbery to go wrong.

Well worth a watch.

Why is it that almost all Lovecraft adaptations are atrocious? There worse than B horror movies, those are least good for a laugh. I'm not sure why no one seems to be able to adapt his stuff properly.

Oooooph. I haven't watched Miike in ages - and his oeuvre is as large as it is mixed. Is this one good?
