I am a huge fan of the "Back to the Future" films; they've definitely reached icon status for me. Another series would be the films based on "Star Trek: the Next Generation".

Star Trek, both the original TV series and the original film series. I only recently started watching them in the past year, and I was shocked at how often I found myself experiencing scenes and dialogue that I was already familiar with, despite never having seen these episodes and films before. So many scenes and moments have been so extensively parodied and referenced in our modern geek culture that I had already picked them up through cultural osmosis.

I'll have to second this entry. Not just any movie gets shown on TV seemingly every week, y'know.
I have never sat down to actually watch it, from intro to credits and still it's getting overly familiar, from the TV my dad keeps on every hour of the day.
