How about Lisa Simpson

Maybe, but she must be extremely high-fuctioning.

I reckon that Professer frink and comic book guy are definately aspies.

The only one I can think of who hasn't been mentioned yet is Dr Temperance Brennan from Bones. Although my mom says she just acts all antisocial because she was a foster child. What do you think?

I'd have to agree with you completely in the fact that Brennan has Asperger's, and both my parents agree. Even if she is antisocial from being a foster child, her other bizarre antics are too plenty to be just from that.

And in response to Cheerlessleader's last comment, it might be a possibility that some of the characters from Pokemon have Asperger's, though not likely. Don't forget, the world of Pokemon was birthed from the mind of Satoshi Tajiri, who has Asperger's Syndrome.

Most definately those as follows (and I apologize if someone else has already said any or all of these):

* Mr. Spock from Star Trek
* Mary Bennet from Pride and Prejudice
* Almost any android character from any Sci-fi

I agree about Mary Bennet. (And possibly Mr Darcy and / or Mr Collins -- possibly.)

I still think Edward Scissorhands is aspie.

...And some of the characters from "Wild Thornberrys" especially Eliza and Nigel. (And Donnie probably has Kanner's along with ADHD, and he's such a cool character!)

I'd have to say the professor and Wernstrom from futurama.

I think it's most likely to be James. Well think about it, he had different thoughts than his family (well who wouldn't lol) he seems kinda un-co-ordinated sometimes (I said SOMETIMES), and he has an obsession with bottlecaps.

What about Ralph Wiggam from the Simpsons?,,,He is def. somewhere on the spectrum..(if someone else brought him up..sorry)...I think he way more suspect than Lisa.

And Butters from South Park.

as a kid i was sorta like Butters meets Ralph Wiggam, but a girl.

The Thermians, from GalaxyQuest. The odd way they walked, with their arms bent (I walked like that when I was a kid!), their odd way of talking, the stupid looks on their faces, smiling but clueless, their technical prowess but inability to understand the simplest concepts, their inability to understand when people were lying to them...

James doesn't seem Aspie to me, just a bit strange. Ash, on the other hand, is much more obsessed with collecting and CANNOT make one bit of sense out of social cues. He just rambles on about whatever he wants, and he seems to take nearly everything as a personal attack. I think he makes a better candidate.

Also, several people have mentioned Rocko from Rocko's Modern Life. What about Filburt? He has clear OCD traits ("You turn the page, you wash your hands") and sensory sensitivities ("I'm nauseous, I'm nauseous, I'm nauseous"). He's also meek - unless his routines or the way he's arranged things are disrupted, in which case he can become very upset - and speaks in a monotone. Also he frequently repeats himself, as in the quotes above.

I think Chuckie from Rugrats would be a good candidate too. Much like Filburt he's very fearful and doesn't like his routine disrupted. Also he still doesn't speak (to adults) despite being obviously older than the other babies.

As for Ralph Wiggum, I think he's clearly supposed to be a "special" kid, but not necessarily AS. He's more like mildly ret*d, and these children would of course have social skill deficits as well. However, Milhouse and definitely Martin Prince show some definite Aspie traits. Lisa seems frustrated but aware that her classmates have different interests than her; Martin has no clue at all and just keeps talking about them anyway.

Actually if you pull back, Milhouse, Chuckie, and Filburt all sort of start to seem like the same character...

Has anyone mentioned Detective Robert Goren from Law & Order: CI? I love watching him on screen because he acts a lot like I act.

I agree on Gil Grissom from "CSI" and possibly Sara Sidle and David Hodges as well. Hodges may just be an ass-kisser though, but people don't like him very well and he's always talking about stuff that people don't want to listen to.

Yeah!! ! I completely forgot about Hodges... so there is the CSI aspie trio...

I still reckon that he is (James), maybe just (MUCH) higher-functioning than Ash. Because of his obession with bottlecaps (how else can it be exlplained?) he seems to think differently to most of the other characters (sometimes), he seems kinda oblivious sometimes (though not as often as Ash), and he speaks with a british acent when his parents were southerners, and he seems to have the same compassion for his pokemon that most of us have for our cats (though that probably isn't AS  ).

There's also the possibility that Adrian Monk from Monk might have AS because he really doesn't know what's socially right.

I've looked around.. but am I the only one who thinks Gaius Octavia/Octavian Caesar from the miniseries Rome was pictured higly Aspie?

No eye contact, emotionaly distant and no bonding to people, super analyzing everything as a kid..
He was very symphatetic in the first season, lessly so in the second one (but yeah, you could see why he became such a 'monster')
