I didn't know there was such a recent version on film.

Starring Al Pacino as Shylock, no less. :|

I have a copy sitting around but I'm afraid to watch it.

A sea captain seeks revenge against the Chinese crime syndicate responsible for the murder of his daughter.

Basically an unofficial Fu Manchu film, and it's no better than the official ones. These movies are all the same: the evil Chinese thugs are supposed to be extremely efficient at lying, cheating, manipulating, and murdering their way to their goals, but somehow they're always taken down by the designated burly white heroes with room temperature IQs who solve every problem with their fists.

I kid you not, there's actually a scene where one of the villains holds the hero at gunpoint and says, "since I'm about to kill you, I may as well tell you our entire plan..."

At least Christopher Lee is good, but that's no surprise. What's surprising is that Jimmy Sangster (The Curse of Frankenstein, Horror of Dracula, The Mummy) wrote this crap.

I'm a huge fan of this movie! :)

{No, not because George Clooney was in it, but I did meet him when he was in Portland promoting this movie. I thought he was going to be a typical Hollywood a-hole, but surprisingly, he was easy to talk to.}
