I saw that movie for the first time a little over a year ago. Currently, I'm watching The Lego Movie.

Plein Soleil / Purple Noon (1960)

Image

Criterion Collection description:

Quote:
Alain Delon was at his most impossibly beautiful when Purple Noon was released and made him an instant star. This ripe, colorful adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's vicious novel The Talented Mr. Ripley, directed by the versatile René Clément, stars Delon as Tom Ripley, a duplicitous American charmer in Rome on a mission to bring his privileged, devil-may-care acquaintance Philippe Greenleaf (Maurice Ronet) back to the United States. What initially seems a carefree tale of friendship soon morphs into a thrilling saga of seduction, identity theft, and murder. Featuring gorgeous location photography of coastal Italy, Purple Noon is crafted with a light touch that allows it to be at once suspenseful and erotic, and it gave Delon the role of a lifetime.

Fifth or sixth viewing; I've lost count. Still love it.

Except the ending, which I still can't get over. Damn near ruins it. Should have ended where the book did.

Der Amerikanische Freund / The American Friend (1977)

Image

Criterion Collection description:

Quote:
Wim Wenders pays loving homage to rough-and-tumble Hollywood film noir with The American Friend, a loose adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's novel Ripley's Game. Dennis Hopper oozes quirky menace as an amoral American art dealer who entangles a terminally ill German everyman, played by Bruno Ganz, in a seedy criminal underworld as revenge for a personal slight—but when the two become embroiled in an ever-deepening murder plot, they form an unlikely bond. Filmed on location in Hamburg and Paris, with some scenes shot in grimy, late-seventies New York City, Wenders's international breakout is a stripped-down crime story that mixes West German and American film flavors, and it features cameos by filmmakers Jean Eustache, Samuel Fuller, and Nicholas Ray.

Watched with Blu-ray audio commentary by Wim Wenders and Dennis Hopper.

Ironclad, it had an interesting cast, James Purefoy,Brian Cox, Paul Giametti and Aneurin Barnard, before While Queen turned him into a sex symbol.
Otherwise it was just a gory Seven Samurai rip off set in King John's reign, very historically inaccurate of course.

Ripley's Game (2002)

Image

Studio description:

Quote:
Three years after walking off with millions of dollars' worth of forged Renaissance drawings, Tom Ripley (John Malkovich) has settled into a life of culture and opulence in Italy. One night however, Ripley finds his complacency disturbed when he overhears himself insulted by Jonathan Trevanny (Dougray Scott), a terminally ill ex-pat. While any ordinary sociopath might settle for a mild act of retribution, the game Ripley devises is far subtler – and infinitely more sinister.

The Rise and Fall of WCW (2009)

Image

All Movie Guide description:

Quote:
In the nineties, World Championship Wrestling, owned by Ted Turner, battled with the World Wrestling Federation for the pro wrestling market. Although the two companies went head-to-head for many years, WCW eventually folded. This documentary tells the story of the WCW, and offers footage from many of the most beloved grapplers who fought for it including Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, and Goldberg. Interviews with behind-the-scenes people like the Crockett brothers make it clear why the once powerful institution dissolved.
